Johnny,
Can you explain what a death grip is and how it relates? You seem to fixated on a J frame. And an incomplete grip? Explain that one.

I'm still waiting on my million dollars.

Oh and Johnny, by the way, back when you were posting as Luckenback Texas, you said that a school had been named after you in Florida. Could you please tell us what school that is?

HI, new guy here! My 2 cents....woman should carry what a man carries, in some cases just a smaller version.

I went from a Smith 60/.357mag to a Glock 36. The G36 is small and delivers 6+1 .45ACP. It's smallish as well. I also have a Glock 19/15+1 9mm. A lady may like the G26 a bit better if her hands are small.

Training is essential however, no matter what gun is selected.

Someone mentioned a PPK early on in the thread. I have to admit that is one sweet little piece, quite small and handy, flat, looks cool as well. I have a PPK as well as an old wartime PP, but would recommend 9mm,.40, .45, etc. for carry/defensive applications.

Look up the S&W Bodyguard. It's a .380 round 6+1 and has a built in laser!

Johnny,

Look in the mirror and take another bite of whatever you're having.

It's funny how every time someone questions your claims you call them a troll. You said you had a school named after you in Florida. Several of us remember that statement. The thread was deleted, but we still remember it. There's only one John Ferguson High School in Florida, and it's named after a preacher. You a preacher Johnny?

It had to be that way KC as I donated 21 million dollars of Noriega's money to the Dade County school system. I told the recipient it had to come from a "Priest" and they agreed to use the "Falcon" as a mascot. It doesn't matter if you think its true, it matters that its not provable or traceable. I can't account for everyone else's boring life.

I am fascinated that you love me so much you remember my name.

I love you too man, Johnny blush

If you want your Million, you'll find it in one of these lakes, get your dive gear ready and the gold bars are about 70 pounds each:

I still recommend the hammerless J-Frame because staying alive is what I do best!

I got tired of reading all the posts so I gave up after a page. This has been discussed many times before and I think the same ideas apply to women as to men. Buy a quality gun, don't skimp to save a buck when you expect this gun to save your life. Buy a quality weapon and train with it.

Train. Most people think that means standing at the ranging and punching paper on a relaxing Saturday afternoon. Get your heart rate up and see how your paper punching groups turn out. Turn that all the time in the world aiming in to a draw and fire scenario. I prefer revolvers for those who aren't willing to put in the time for the muscle memory of clearing a jam or FTF. It seems silly but run a bunch of sprints and do a lot of push ups then run to the bench, grab your gun and fire. Better yet, do if from your holster if your range will let you do that. Learn to shoot and move.

It's all about mindset and muscle memory. I love autos and my glocks but I can shoot my 642 better than my Glock 26 in real world small gun, concealed carry situations. Just have to make those 5 rounds count.

Well,

I got down on the floor and rolled around with the wife for the gun combat test....

She pistol whipped me.

kidding - I've been pondering and talking with the Wifey - We decided on a S&w .38 Spcl Hammerless airweight with Crimson Trace grip for these reasons:

1. Fits her and she can handle the round well
2. Recognizable as a gun to anyone (Silver)
3. Mechanical system easy for her to understand
4. No safety and no single action
5. Asleep to pulling trigger with laser help in .001 seconds

This is where we ended up after caliber, gun type, fitting debate.

Those CTC's are good for trigger pull practice if nothing else.

I wish I could use the CTC's but once, while in hand to hand combat, I deflected the enemy's "too large for his hand" pistol enough that the round only caught me in the arm. I had my radial nerve and main vein removed and my middle finger doesn't have enough pressure for the switch. My trigger finger works great though!!

I think that J-Frame is a great choice.

"Asleep to pulling trigger with laser help in .001 seconds"

Thats awesome!
