I don't think there is such a thing as the best cheeseburger in TX.
In Dallas a new place, Liberty Burger at Forest and Inwood is good. Even though it's a chain, Smash burger in Addison makes a good cheese burger. MG's or Little store in Sherman. Blanco bowling alley, double double is good. I mostly eat breakfast there. Alamo springs outside Fredericksburg. Moonies in Cedar Park. Rosco's in El paso Padre's in Marfa. Juices in Marshall.
Cheeseburgers are a main food group to me.

There's a new little place in Justin and now in Roanoke called OUTLAW BURGER it's great. But you have to get the THE OUTLAW, it's a double double with everything and they make jalapeno sauce to put on that burger that is awesome..... +1 for Outlaw Burger ... best burger i've ever eaten. And the owners are the nicest people around. They recently expanded to dining room. The lunch line is always out the door and down the block. That says alot.

Have a few favorites scattered around the state...
Kitty's Purple Cow in Surfside, TX...if you ever go to surfside beach you gotta stop in!!
Fillips Cafe Danbury, TX
Mary's in Strawn, TX
Chris Madrids in San Antonio, TX
Sam's Burger Joint in San Antonio was good, havent been there in several years though.
There was a place in NE Texas I ate that had a great burger. Cant remember the name of it though. It was several years back and I was up there running a field trial.

Northside Cafe...in Mason, Texas has the best hand formed fresh beef Cheeseburgers! It is housed in an old grocery store that opened in the 1920s and closed in 2002. Try it. Have a hard time finding it? -- ask anyone in town. Philly Cheesesteak Fridays are melt in your mouth good also!

Thats the problem in this country, eating greazzzzy food, and cant pay up medical bills Maybe you should start you own thread...."Best Salad In Texas". Blows me away that people see a thread that says "Best Cheeseburger in Texas", click on it, and gripe about it. Give me a break.

I dunno about the best in the state, Texas is pretty big. But if you're near Garland/Mesquite then Crave the Taste has some of the best cheeseburgers around. In my opinion, you've got to give them a try.
If it looks good, eat it.

i'm with rocksandkittens... I think that anybody who tries every cheeseburger in TX would either die before succeeding or change their mind a million times because the burgers change over time. But as far as north central TX goes, the Horny Toad Bar & Grill in Cranfill's Gap. Feed store gone bar...good stuff

Tornado Burger in Stafford is the best i've had in Texas.
The best cheeseburger i have ever had was one called a Jucy Lucy at Matt's Bar in Minneapolis, MN.

Didn't see it listed but one of the best I've had is Alamo Springs Cafe in Fredericksburg Texas (or just outside of) they made #3 on Texas monthly's Texas Best Burgers. Its also not too far from my place.
