It is your fault they were stolen if you thought glass was sufficient to keep someone out. No other way to look at it. It's only not "nice" because the truth hurts.

devildog,
Your statements are ridiculous. Thats like me asking why you would go to U of H? Now that is your fault. So if they were secured properly the end result would've been the same? Your comparison makes no sense btw. Besides that I'm quite happy with my consequences of going there.

"So if they were secured properly.." What a bunch of condescending BS. Whether it's via breaking glass, jimmying locks, or cutting thru a cable lock, the fault is in the scuzzy thief. If a thief stole your "properly secured" firearms by cutting the cable, will you write it off as being bested by the bad guys?

Why would anyone ever leave guns unsecured? "Why would anyone blame the victim of a vehicle break-in?" FIFY See Full Metal Jacket for your answer
The canopy became his shroud; he hurtled to the ground. And he ain't gonna jump no more. Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die, he ain't gonna jump no more!

In the first 40 mins of the movie you will get all the answers to life.

Sure will. Like I said before; it's not his fault he got broken into, it's his fault his guns were stolen A safe in my truck or just driving straight home from an outing is a lot cheaper.

Were they in plain view? Could you see them through the windows? Burglars are opportunists, if they see something of value they go for it. If the car is left unlocked then they go in and search for stuff to take.
I'm sorry this happened to you, it sucks but maybe some good can come from this, a lesson for others. Don't leave valuables visible in your car, especially guns. Best bet is to leave them at home in the safe and if that isn't possible then lock them up the best you can. If you frequently carry guns in your car then install a bolted down lock box/safe that can't be easily pried open.

By devildogs logic... If a man kicks your door down, rapes and kills your wife and kids, its your fault for not securing them. Its your fault for thinking a wooden door was sufficient to keep someone out.
I love internet tough guys.

Sure will. Like I said before; it's not his fault he got broken into, it's his fault his guns were stolen A safe in my truck or just driving straight home from an outing is a lot cheaper. First you mentioned a cable lock for securing firearms in a vehicle, now you mention a vehicle safe...make up your mind how you are so right, and others are irresponsible. And thanks for the laugh regarding your "sure will", if your deterrents don't work.

The jacket that was on the guns was not on you , its cold out there? You lost your gun , how would you feel if you found out tonight some one was shot with your gun? Would you do a better job at securing it next time or do the same? I hate thieves as much as the next guy thats why I wont make their job easier.

I wouldn't call it being inside a locked vehicle "unsecured" but then again I'm not from the city either-this stuff is one reason why. Oh yeah, because the crime rate is so low in Corsicana

Its like a lot of folk here want to play the victim, thinking reactive. Poor little ol me got robbed, how could it be, I was not protected. Instead of thinking proactive and giving the thieves(ya there out there doing their job)a hard target.

Sure will. Like I said before; it's not his fault he got broken into, it's his fault his guns were stolen A safe in my truck or just driving straight home from an outing is a lot cheaper. So if your guns are in your home, in a safe, and someone steals the whole safe, by your mentality, it should be your fault. I never understood the "blame the victim" mentality. They were secure, in his truck, Someone breached the security.
