This is an excellent point and also probably a huge reason for HF deer being tame as well. HF place with pen deer and just a place that is HF is absolutely different.

A mature buck might be a deer, but you can bet it's a totally different animal

In PA. you have to flush all the native deer out of the area you are going to fence. Then you stock it with game from animal farms. My opinion is this: Yes there are fences, but if the preserve is big enough and not over populated, you can have some what of a "hunt". I have shot a few boars in high fence places in PA. I make the hunt last all day. For boars, I go later in the morning. The boars are laying up from feeding all night. Then you really have to hunt these animals in the brush. Don't sit on feeders. That is too easy. Hope this helps.

Can you or someone point me to a fee based hunting 3000acre+ (one piece) high fence ranch????
Is there any????? except YO Ranch?????

I can point you to a 34k acre ranch in Sanderson/Dryden area.

Tye,
Thanks for the links but you are mistaken. All these ranches are divided into multiple high fenced areas biggest being less than 1000 acres. Read my post one more time, I'm talking about one piece.

There are a lot of ranches in the State that are over 3000 acres HF in all regions of the state. You go south and west of San Antonio and there are quite a few. Go up around San Angelo and there are quite a few there. In south Texas here are few like the Hindes Ranch, 74 Ranch, Shiner Ranch, Las Racies Ranch, La Rucia Ranch, Ranch Encantado, Sombrerito Ranch, Highlonesome Ranch, Mclean Bowman Ranch, and a lot more I can't think of right now that are larger than 3,000 but only do lease hunts.
