Sorry for the Bruntness-GW doesn't give ya any slack; so why should I? Any way you cut it, beautiful bird. Do an ID check again, are you sure he doesnt have red eyes? Looks a little red in your pic, look again, because a can is gold as can be in the eyes. Didnt mean to pick on ya, thought everyone knew that a can had a "horsehead look"

No problem, wanaduck. You gotta' learn somehow. Spend a little extra time on Id'n. It really doesn't take that long to really be able to learn the birds. It pays off to know. Pigpen is just givin' you some tough love.

They can look kinda' brown. But for the most part they are usually red.

Probably an immature bird, but still a trophy in my eyes, if you dont think so, find out about the cans feeding in the wild celery of the great lakes in yesteryear -thing of the past.Mossy, get yo self outta of the closet and give him yer best indecent proposal, ya never know these days. The hen can's eyes are black not red. That's probably a hen in alumacraft's pic cause in the pic it looks more brown with whitish marks around the eye than red head really.

A Can is a better trophy than a Redhead for sure. Just keep it that....a TROPHY! Put him on your wall and NOT in your pot. Cans, redheads, scaup, ringers(super yuck!) are only good for messing up a perfectly good pot of gumbo. Best to mount them and be done with them.
