Great area in general. I haven't hunted the Gates but have hunted the Briscoe Cochina and Caterina ranches and used to be on a season lease on the Briscoe Carla (west end of the Caterina). Some of the biggest free range deer in Texas. I'd go...

Hunted there once about 3 years ago. Extremely nice people. Saw plenty of whitetail, a few axis, and some hogs. Unfortunatly nothing bigger than average showed up that weekend.
