7mm what? there are several. My main go to is still a 7mm08 but it doesn't get hunted with that much, love the rifle but also have others that are fun to hunt with.

308, 300 wsm.. but i might b looking into a 223 for something a lil more economical to shoot coy dogs with and doesn't make such a mess of the coats

i would say on here most popular is 7mm-08, and .270....IMO ill take the .270 anyday Yep.

I think there are two groups of hunters (in very broad terms). First group is gun nuts who hunt (i wanted x gun and got it, so I will hunt with it). Other group is hunting nuts (my gun works great so why change). There is very little distinction between these groups and lines are very thin and often are not lines, but smudge marks. The best caliber is the one that is availabe, leathal, comfortable, and consistantly accurate. I'm in the gun nut "I wanted X gun(s) and got 'em" group! (So little time & so many guns) - What I use depends on my mood that day, what I'm after, and how long the shot might be.......Sooooooo I didn't vote..

I have a .243,.270,30.06 for center fire rifles. I would just about shoot the .243 over any of the others,because of the recoil. But the question ,to me. was"what is your go to gun",I though that meant if you only had one what would you use. The 30.06 is my choice if it's the only gun i could have. It's just very versital.vermits(.25 cal saboted head),150 gr for whitetails,165 gr. for mule deer,any 200 gr for elk or bear.
I also like to shoot my .50 smoke pole.for whitetails.

Bow for me, I do like my 270 for pigs; but if I can I'd rather bow hunt.

I hunt with MZL, bow and rifle. What I choose depends on the season and where I'm hunting. I'm a HUNTER first and not dedicated to one method of hunting.
