What is the rut? Must be something deer did back before AR's and timber were invented on East Texas high fence ranches. LOL.

works every time Something I never was able to learn. I can whistle, but not loud and fast enough to stop a deer.

May be hard to stop a running. rutting buck but a short baah, like a sheep would make, will usually stop a walking deer. Usually use it when making head, neck shots on does or cull spikes. Be ready to pull the trigger as soon as they freeze. The baah won't scare them off as may a whistle that goes bad. X2! Loud unnatural noises will often times make them run harder away from you. "Baaaahh works awesome even on rutting, chasing bucks usually and if you need something louder a snort wheeze works. You can do both of these very easily with your mouth and it won't spook deer or run them off
