Ok.............. My question then. Why even start a thread as you did and basically come on that so called Public Forum(THF) make the claim as to the deer and score? Then all the sudden not want to let us see the pics?

I can understand the fella who shot this so called not wanting anyone to know, his business. But for you to take up 3 pages on this thread and back track? If I knew the hunter wanted to remain anonymous then I certainly could respect that but sure as heck not start a post and leave it hanging. Maybe it's just me, anyone else feel this way?

He didn't know if the rumor was true. You know how these things go around. I txted CCDC the other night when I heard about it to see if he had heard anything or had a pic. He did but couldn't confirm anything. Everybody I have talked agrees we shouldn't put his name up. I'm sure somebody will eventually but I'm not going to be the guy who gets him 20 phone calls from people asking about the deer. I did that once with a fish and I won't do it again. That's where I stand on it. Mods, delete the thread if you want, I'm sure nobody would care. I do have another pic BTW. I'm not posting it either.

Ok Adam understandable I reckon. Should a bit more thought have been given? Before this even started? Maybe confirming and knowing the hunter was/is ok with the spotlight on him? A tad late now I guess The question now arises is this bs or not?

If I would have shot a deer that big you would see me in the December issue of PETA as their centerfold

You've learned a valuable lesson. I only post pics of inantimate objects so there won't be any bs. If I really feel the need to post an animal pic, I go over to TFF and post a pic of a dead water snake. Then I'm hunting the bs.

I don't have a problem with them posting this. I want to know when a 250" deer is killed in my backyard. Sure I would like to know the details, but I understand if the hunter doesn't want to share them...

What kills it is when you post a pic of a nice buck, people immediately start saying it was photoshopped, they've been seeing the same pic for years, was it HF or LF, it's inferior because it's too big, it's inferior because it's a non-typical, the hunter posed the deer wrong, it's too young, and on and on. It's not worth the hassle.

This was a LF deer and he was 6 1/2 years old. I know exactly where he was shot... the deer was a pet deer and the man that shot him called it a mercy killing. How do you kill a 250 buck and call it a mercy killing? We have also heard from our sources that the deer can NEVER be offically scored.

Why?

This will really get the rumor mill going.

My sources have told me that they know people who have several hundred pictures of this deer over the last 3 years. I am trying to get some pictures of the deer to post to show that he was a pet.

I would think if the dee in the link below can be scored the one in the photos of this thread could be scored. One of the hardest problems with this type of rack is which point is the end of teh main beam

Those kind of deer are hard to score even B&C folks have trouble scoring them. Case in point the Tony Fulton buck, which I know is a freak looking buck. have seen and held it. http://residents.bowhunting.net/awesomehunting/page8b.html

Aside from the fact that having a pet deer in Texas isn't legal, if it hops the fence it is fair game. Same as if somebody's breeder buck gets out of it's pen. As long as it was killed legally I'm not going to knock the guy. It's not like he is trying to get famous from it.

This thread confuses me. Perhaps I had a bit too much BBQ as well, or maybe it was the ice cream that did me in.

ok...I got some pictures of this deer while he was alive... The kill is legit, but the ethics are what are in question. I will leave that up to y'all to decide..(this probably why the deer can never be scored??) the people that raised this deer are not releasing any photos, but these are some that I have came by from other sources..

Ok.. the man that killed the deer said that this was a mercy killing and now I have been asked not to speak of this anymore....

Well, I’m sold on the fact that this probably isn’t a “high fence” deer. A high fenced place wouldn’t have one feeder leg duct tapped to t-post and the other two tied to the barbed wire fence!

Looks like the work of one of the Clampetts......

I'd laugh, but then I'd be laughing at myself as a couple of my set-ups look very similar. Still trying to figure out what that is duct-taped to the t-post on the left.
