How can Smitty's in Lockhart not be in this thread yet? It is now. Hands down the best ribs and sausage I've ever had.

Another vote here for Coopers in LLano. Best I have ever personally had. Chicken was awsome.

If in Dallas try Back Country BBQ. Been doing it since 1975. It is some of the best tasting meat around. I worked there summer of '93. His dad used to own some of them pig stands in the old days.

The T-N-T Quick stop in Burkett has some pretty good BBQ...sliced/chopped, brisket & sausage...sandwiches or by the pound.

TXhunter has got the right idea
if the meat tastes as good as it looks, you may have something good there.

They turned out excellent. This particular brisket wasn't as good as I've cooked in the past. but it was decent. Saltlick is awesome. Only been there twice but it is in my top 5 that's for sure.

Stopped there yesterday. Still just as good as it was the first time I stopped there 5 years ago.

I'm sure it's been posted but Austin BBQ in Eagle Lake is excellent and a Texas Monthly staple. But if you want a real treat, go to Mt. Zion Baptist BBQ in Huntville. Wow is all I can say...

I can't beleive that the Smokehouse in Lindsy, TX has not been listed. All cuts of meat there are mouth watering, but there sausage is second to none. Oh, and order some onion rings too..........the best ever or in North Texas.

I AGREE. BACK COUNTRY IS GREAT. BEEN EATING THERE SINCE THEY WERE ON N.W. HIGHWAY. I ALSO THINK BAKER'S RIBS ON GREENVILLE IS GREAT FOR RIBS AND THEIR POTATO SALAD IS THE BEST!!

My number one is Louie Mueller's in Taylor and Taylor Cafe ain't bad either, expecially their sausage. Also Kruetz, smitty's, and blacks in lockhart. Can't go wrong with any of those. I think county line is a joke, and rudy's and salt lick are decent at best.
