This deer has some of the longest brow tines I have seen! Looks like his growth all went there instead of developing a 3x3 or 4x4 rack.

the deer I posted is an 8pt, he's had long brows since I noticed him in '08..he was running with a 1 brow deer and I'm guessing they hit that magical age where a good many of our bucks become loners. The former 1 brow deer doesn't amount to much, but body-wise would have me believe he won rights to their usual feeder hang-out fair & square.

Why add something there that that deer never had anyways?

Agreed. I think that deer looks cool with no brow tines.

The study you speak of is the most bias and baseless study EVER done! There were many many unscientific things done in this study to get the results they were TRYING to get. This is the same skewed study that has so many people believe that spikes are inferior when it has NEVER been proven by any other study that they are. In fact there has never been a study done on a large scale that even suggest 1 1/2 year old spikes are inferior in anyway at all. This study is extremely outdated, inaccurate and misleading because it was in fact meant to show desired results of those conducting it. I urge you if and when you have the time to read up on it and also see what other studies show on antler genetics.

A mature buck might be a deer, but you can bet it's a totally different animal

I have seen more without brow tines this year than ever. It might be the drought.
