This is my second year duck hunting, and I have 2 questions: what is a storm? different type of widgeon I am guessing from context clues. I ask because I shot a widgeon with a largely white head like the one you are referring to as a storm. It is in my freezer and has a taxi meeting in its future. What is Matt's website if he has one. His work looks GREAT!

His work looks GREAT! dk, thanks for the nice comments. A storm weegun has a unique blonde head that makes the green robber's mask stand out nicely. I'm told they earned that name long ago as hunters said this type of weegun always appeared before a storm. My website is birdworkstaxidermy.com, but I must apologize as I am not in a position to take any new work in right now. Best of Luck - Matt
Overheard at my last convention: "If you wanna make a million bucks in taxidermy, start out with 2 million and in 5 years, if you're lucky, you'll have a million left."

Between work and a 7mo preggo wife I haven't been on the boards much lately but am certainly glad this one is back up to the top! Let me tell you, the piece is even better in person than in the pics. Willie (my bird dog) and I are staring at it right now, just waiting on November. When I first brought it home the intended destination was my man cave, but my wife allowed 'temporary' placement in the living room so I could show it off to everybody that came through the house for the holidays. We are coming up on July and Wanda, Wadsworth and Steve (the storm) are still happily residing in the living room where I can admire them from my recliner every night! This is art, not just taxidermy . . .
