Thanks for the report on shooting your Hi-Power.

Sounds like you and that gun will get along just fine!

Good luck and best wishes for the new year.

Have you ever seen a MK-2 Hi-power?

All mine are Belgium’s except one. It's the only MK-3 I own. It started as a 40, now it's chambered in 357 Sig. The MK-2 was designed with military and law-enforcement in mind. It has a fixed non-driftable front sight, actual built into the rib on the slide, ambidextrous safety and low-profile non-snag rear sight. It's a great shooter.

Most of the Hi-power's i've seen are Mk-III's which i don't care for that much. I prefer the older pre Mk-II's. Why do you ask?

There was only 1 Mk-2. The one I described is the only model labeled as MK-2. It’s the only model that has a rib running down the slide. With the front sight built into the rib. Not only is it my opinion it's also the experts opinion, that it was the finest hi-power ever built. They got rid of the bump feed and went to a polished ramp, getting rid of the finicky feeding habits of the older MK I's and P-35's. The last of the Belgiums.

kimber kimber kimber I have had mine for only about a year and LOVE it. It is always dead on...more than I am...and is a blast to shoot. I have the Pro Tactical II with the 4" Bull Barrel, aluminum frame, ambi safety, the list goes on with the mods that kimber puts on their pistols. If ya got the money and dont mind only having a 7 or 8 rd mag * and dont mind spending the 16.99 per 50 fmj's then go kimber...otherwise you could get the .38sp? in the same model...its been a while but think its the .38 special...not sure though...and if ya wanna spend another 250 on it you can also get the .22 Lr or the .17hmr conversion for it!!! Save on ammo and have a badarse target gun....still havent got that like i planned on a year ago..

anyways good luck and if ya dont want to spend the cash on a kimber...go Sig or H&K...IMO

Just posted this on another thread but fits here as well.

No one metnioned the Makarov in 9x18. Very affordable, very nice looking, very accurate and dependable, good for concealed carry, and they have good history to them. I just bought an E. German Makarov.
