Tanglefoot - 2' coating 2' up from the ground and coons, squirrels firants will not go through it.

http://www.tanglefoot.com/ or try your local Hardware store possibly Ace Hardware. One small tub will coat 3-4 feeders with 3-4 legs.

We tried carpet tack strip several years ago. I don't know if our coons just have feet like arabs or what, but it just seemed to give them more traction. Not to mention that if you bumped into a feeder leg while hoisting a bag of corn onto your shoulder, you'd be bleeding from a couple dozen holes in a second or two.

Someone told me putting carpet tac strips on the legs of your feeder is suppose to work pretty good as well.

Hope you wear good boots when you fill your feeders.

I have herd the same thing but it being on a latter like that I dont know how you would do it. he still has to climb the ladder to put corn in his feeder which will break the tac strips

I had the same problem a couple of years ago, so I put a varmint cage up. A couple days later I went to check the feeder and I kid you not one of those pesky little buggers managed to get the door open some how and was sleeping, yes just taking a little nap on a full belly of corn, inside the cage, this was i the morning and I knew the feeder was fixing to go off so I just waited. After that feeder went off, he woke up I have never laughed so hard It was a pretty darn funny sight. I was laughing so hard I didn't even think about shooting him. I used to have some pictures but I cant find them anywhere
