Nothing better than having one grow once you get to it. It is hard to see the score you posted but I have missed every Kansas deer I have tried to score by 10-15" minimum. Again, great deer

I assume you meant g2s are 9, g3s are 11 and g4s are 4 and the g1s are 7? If so, that's 139+ mass, and 40 inches of mass doesn't seem like a stretch on that beast. Or maybe it is 7 inch bases and you just left off the g1s. If those are the measurements, get that thing scored by a B&C scorer as soon as the 60 days are up and you have a good shot at book.

With the measurements listed above though, that deer would have to have 54+ inches of mass to make 179. That means he'd have to carry that 7 inch measurement almost all the way out. If he really did gross 179 and change, get that deer to a B&C scorer as soon as the 60 day drying period is up. Did you figure in the brow tines with that mass total you are coming up with? 54" MB (5+9+11+4)x2=58" 22.75 Width =about 135" leaves 44" of mass. if you start at 7" bases that leaves an average of 5" each for the remaining measurements. Great deer and I believe ya

Main beam 27 width 22 3/4 g1- 9 g2- 9 g3- 11 g4 - 4 mass at the base 7 othere two mass were 6 and 5 the other 5" were from the 3 points off the left base.

I'm confused...but what the hell, great deer. Dont you take 3 mass measurments? This was one of my first deer to score, however the outfitter is a regular and came up with the same score so i figured i was close

Mass is measured in locations on a 5x5 typical at the smallest location between points including the first mass measurement. You get 4 per side. Great buck but post up all the individual measurements so we can see what you got for each one.

This is why i almost didn't post him, because I knew someone would be hating on it. The buck scored that night again by a man that could do it in his sleep and 179 1/8 was what he got. I'll have the rack in rockwall this evening if anyone wants to see him in person. Sorry for the rant, thanks for all the positive comments guys.

They just can't see the score from the deer and are curious where they are missing him at. I understand them and when a deer scores alot different than what I originally thought, I like to see where I missed him so I know what to look for in the future. I have misjudged enough Midwest deer that I don't doubt you in the least. There are alot of deer posted on here that I do doubt the score alot more than yours. If I was closer to Rockwall I would come by to congratulate you myself and see him in person, not to check the score. Great buck and Congrats again!!! What area in Kansas where you hunting in?

Great buck but post up all the individual measurements so we can see what you got for each one. Maybe i did do 4, either way we came up with nearly the exact score. And I do belive so. I know that he was almost as symetrical i have seen on a deer. I maybe wrong, just trying to go off a quick memory as i dont have him
