For the money Spikes. Under 800 is tough to beat.
My personal guns are BCM/Spikes builds. I like BCM barrels better. THIS ^^^

Colt. You can find the LE model for a price that compares to dpms or some of the lesser quality ones imho. S&W makes a nice one too. Show us the link. When did this post say you had to be at an $800 price point? It said the best for the money and I was surprised that people were voting dpms better than colt. At the gun shows both seemed to be priced the same, around $1000. I would take a colt over that one any day.

I would take a Colt, IF you give it to me. Then sell it to a collector, or others who have a high reguard for them. Go to any major shoot, the ONLY guy shooting a Colt, is sponsored by Colt. That tells me all I need about them. I have (or had) just about all of the major players in the AR field, (yes a SP-1 also) and they are all good. 25 years shooting AND Hunting with THE BLACK RIFLE! This year a new 300 Blackout, here piggie!

Over priced but Daniels Defense makes a sweet AR that will take a royal beating. I'm still not convinced that their rifle they didn't all that testing on is so much better than any other well crafted AR.

Yeah I agree, I wouldn't drop that kind of money. I would love to see them all side by side being put through a unbiased torture test.

I guess it will all depend on what your use for the rifle will be.
IMO Spikes or BCM for factory rifle.
The "best AR maker" category doesnt include any of the "best" AR manufactures

Yeah I agree, I wouldn't drop that kind of money. I would love to see them all side by side being put through a unbiased torture test. If I ever win the lottery, I will definitely do this. Then do it with optics, etc.
