I'm taking my son out for his first buck this year. I've been looking for it all year long. Good luck to your youth this weekend. Happy days.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

I am, Taking both my Son and Daughter, Super excited for them. Now just hope the deer will cooperate. Haven't been seeing much on film since we got the rain a few weeks back and the deer seem to be scattered. Good luck to your children this weekend.

I'll be headed out with my oldest daughter. Her goals are a doe, her first buck, and first hog. Hope she gets them all. The freezers a little empty.

My son is too old and the grand kids are too young. Might take them to look if the weather is nice.

3 12 year olds. One has never hunted.
Dogcatcher, my Grandson started hunting with me at age 4. He had his BB gun and I had my 30-06. He got the first shot and if he didn't make a clean kill, I had to finish them off.

That works untill he hits the deer with a bb. Lol that a great idea. Great way to get him involved. I may have to use that with my youngest.

First post here on THF.
I'm taking my twin 9yr old sons for their first deer hunt. We've been waiting all summer for this weekend. Both Grandfathers will be there along with a lot of other family for support. Will be interesting to see if they hold their composure shooting at a real deer instead of a target.
BTW - the actual hunt is only half the fun, spending time with your kids for Hunters Education, Dad's education, target practice looking at game cam pics and generally learning about the outdoors together is what makes it special.
Good luck to all the young hunters this weekend.

My 3yo is starting to hit the stand with me this year. We have been going all year off and on to get him use to the aspect of being quiet. Of course that is no easy task but he has done very good (lots of snacks help). He actually pointed out a doe to me last weekend, now if I can get him to not point and say "look daddy!". Here's a pic from last Sunday
