some of the stuff that happens at the lease year in and year out is what keeps us going back. lets hear some of those funny stories.

a couple yrs back my uncle thought it was funny to paint stuff on my feeder and stand. we always play jokes on each other. so with this i thought and thought to come up with the perfect prank. perfect prank not sure, funny well it was to me.

so i get to the lease a day before my uncle and the others. with a plan in mind and greatness in the air i make my way to his stand. once i arrive i calmly put the magazines in place.(of the adult nature) after i spread the crumpled up tissues everywhere and laid a bottle of lotion on its side, i closed the door and went back to camp. well everyone arrived and we got ready for the hunt the following day. so the morning hunt ended and i headed back to camp!!! upon arriving at camp i see my uncle sitting in a chair and he looks sick! he tells the story of how when he went to get in his he found all of this stuff in the floor. he said he just turned around and went back to camp! he was beyond pissed and all i could do was laugh and cry at the same time. this one has not been topped yet!

My dad took my brother and I hunting one year in our teens. Our camp was fairly primitive with no toilet facilities or running water. My idiot brother for one reason or another wouldn't go squat to do his daily business. He grabbed the folding toilet seat chair and off he went. Several minutes later he returns to the cabin, nearly in tears. The nutbucket didn't stand up to wipe. He leaned to one side just like at home. The seat crumpled under him and he fell straight into his own poop.

He was nearly crying and I was crying from laughing so hard. I could see dad was holding back his laughter and kept fussing at me to stop laughing. I couldn't though. It was too funny seeing my brother covered in poop.

My buddy’s son wanted to go varmint hunting with me and my friend on night. I kept telling my buddy’s son that it happens quickly so be ready!
It was late 2:00amish in the morning and we couldn’t call up anything. He asked what we were doing wrong etc… I told him something besides us has got everything spooked.
He asked “like what?” …I told him I don’t know maybe a “mountain lion” or something….
It was our last set and I was ready for bed. My foxpro was about 40 yards or so near a stand down a steep hill looking down in a CRP field. I told him let’s quit. He agreed.
I told him to go get my foxpro so we could get things packed up. I told him to leave his gun because it was too dark and the footing was not safe to carry a rifle down the hill. (my forward thinking plan not to get shot)
He agreed and set of with his flash light. I waited until he was about 5 feet from the Foxpro and cracked up the volume full blast and belted out a mountain lion scream from the Foxpro.
As it played I screamed to him “GET DOWN” my other buddy up the hill with me fired his pistol a couple of times “away” from us as if he was shooting at an attacking lion….As we all screamed.
My sons friend puckered up…and hit the dirt and screamed like his life was over! The 3 of us laughed so hard we were in tears.

I was hunting a brush blind on a dried creek bed with a bluff behind me!!! It was about 5:30 in the morning and dark and I kept hearing scuffling noises to my left side!!! I waited for several minutes until my curiousity got the best of me so I shined my flashlight in that direction and there was a javalina not 3 foot from me and all I saw was tusks!!! I don't know which one of us was more surprized!!! I ran out one side and it ran out the other!!!

After the morning hunt my buddy and I went back to camp and made a fire to heat up some soup. I just stuck my soup can (the pull top can...) in the hot ashes. My buddy sits down next to the fire/soup can... A few minutes later he is covered in soup and ashes when the top of the can exploded off.

A couple of times a year I take one of the kids on a "walk about" I'll show (teach them about tracks, rubs and deer POOP)

I like to have some Sugar Babies in my pocket, I reach down like I'm picking up deer poop and pop a few Sugar Babies in my mouth and say " Um these are FRESH!"

For the high strung, tightly wound person in camp, put in their stand some empty cans or bottles of beer that would be very different from what anyone would consume. Also put about two empty rifle shells and cig butts and package or maybe some cheapo half empty dip can.

Most of the funny stories at our lease involve a lack of toilet paper.

But I do remember a story that appeared several years ago in the TPWD Hunting Annual. It involved this guy who always made it a point to avoid using a light when getting into his stand, and would then go to sleep until the sun came up. Knowing this, two of his buddies slipped in the night before and covered the windows of his stand with black felt paper.

The next morning, the guy slipped into his stand as usual. It wasn't until sometime around 10am before he woke up realized what had happened.

I had gotten the feeling that a buddy of mine had been using one of my stands (we have a "yours only" rule), so I decided to set a little "trap" on him to confirm. I stretched some really thin wire across a pretty narrow part of the trail you have to take to get back to my stand, which was overlooking a crossing in the creek that a bunch of deer and hogs use. The best part was that there was always a whole bunch of cow and pig poo-poo in that area that I gathered up carefully and spread all over the ground right where I set the trap. You guys know where I'm going with this...

Long story short, old Eddie rode his 4-wheeler instead of walking out there the following evening and the wire cut his head right off!!! LOL!!!

Oh man, I be he was surprised. Good times.

A guy at our lease was sitting in a tower blind when nature was callin. He got to the point where he just couldn't bear it anymore and started to climb down but with each passing step I'll let you fill in the blank. He called his girlfriend a little later saying that he needed her to bring him new underwear. I about crashed my truck when I heard that story I was laughin so hard.

It would have been awesome if he had just dropped his drawers and blown it out from the top of the tower. Magnificent sight early in the morning.
