Its amazing to me all of the toys (aka crap according to my wife)I now take in the field for every hunt. Growing up, you just needed your gun/bow, a flashlight, and a good skin'n knife. Now days, I fill a backback, belt holsters, all pockets,cap attachments, and both hands with "necessary tools" for the hunt. My checklist includes but not limited to, Gun/bow, pistol (CHL), back up flashlight, headlamp, game calls and rattle bag, cell phone, video camera, binocs, scents, small bags of game feed, saftey harness, toolman, SD cards for game cam, rope,and enough shells to protect a small country..Don't get me started on what I pack in the truck and never use..I'm definatly keeping Cabela's, basspro, academy, and Gander mtn in business..guess im doing my part keeping this multi billion dollar industry moving!

I agree one less sock just sucks...bring the tp. and a mounted buck to put in site distance of your buddys stand...never gets old

Pack, repack, unpack to double check, pack again....stop at wally world to get some stuff that I might have left out when I repacked only to get to camp to find I did pack them and then remember my "stash" of the same items that I forgot to remember to not forget that I dont need to remember because I have plenty. Then wear two sets of clothes (brought 5), drank 4 four bottles of water (brought 4 cases), and drive to town every day at lunch to buy more beer (it just looks bad pulling into camp with more beer than water!) and snuff.

When I go to the blind/tripod/pop up I take my weapon, rifle muzzle loder bow or pistol binoculars and my cell phone and a knife. Thats it. Stuff that stays in the truck would include clothes and food. You dont need much.

Once upon a time,it was cold and raining and had to backup to a tree. Ohh no....I forgot my paper. So I got my knife out, then cut the belly out of my thermal top. It worked-out great !
