1 3/4" off...Bet I was further off on STX's
For some reason, I can score them closer when someone is holding them than the field pics.

That beam sure does a crazy little dance on the right side, lol. Yeah it did. Wish he'd been at least a little more symmetrical. If he had been he would be at or near 160.

Ok I'll play. Two angles same buck the same day. One hint this buck was not taken this year of the pics. So his score was based off of dumb luck in finding both sheds. I gave him a 18" inside spread and one other hint is that he is not that big bodied. If that matters on his score or not.

Man, I suck at aging deer if I'm off on this one. Kind of weird though, because if you put me in a blind with some binocs, I'm usually within an inch or two.

Ok the final score was an even 184 on this buck with an 18" inside spread from his sheds that spring. Ok I'll play. Two angles same buck the same day. That last 10 goes 148 and change without the brow. He's 22 5/8 inside. He also has 5" bases which you can't see. I think the width makes his mass seem smaller or something.
Taxi said he's putting the finishing touches on him now so I'll post a pic as soon as I can.

I could see the spread there. 23-24" beams? I guess if I would sit and try to add up, I'd probably get closer, just to impatient for it. Had a client shoot a deer pretty similar to that one.

I don't have the score sheet with me but the beams were 22-23. The left G3 was over 12.
Most of the mature bucks on that lease had beams over 20 and many were pushing 25.

Most of the mature bucks on that lease had beams over 20 and many were pushing 25. Something does not add up on your score. Is that a net of 148? With 22" beams and 22" inside and around 34" of mass that is 100" on main beams mass and spread. BT is around 5", G2s are around 17", G3s 23" and G4s around 13" so that is 158 from what I can tell on him. You still have your score sheet LP? This buck just looks bigger than 148 to me.

No, I don't have it. It's at the Taxi with the head/mount. My taxidermist scored him. Maybe it was 148 net. Now you got me wondering too. I'll have to call him in the morning and get the numbers again.

Hoping I can pick him up this week. Taxi said that he just needed final touches and would be ready. That was two weeks ago.

That tail came from a young bobcat coming down the brushline and he did not like it. No he stayed a 7x7 but had one nontypical inline off of the mainbeam at the right G4 giving him 15 scoreables.

Now that you mention bobcats, I noticed in S. Texas that the deer seemed to pay more attention to them than they did coyotes. Anyone else ever notice that?
