does he look young enough that another year or so of aging could do him some good? IMO - yes in a low fence environment around PK, if I let him pass what are the odds of him still being around a year from now???

Sorry but i still call BS on first deer, unless he escaped. Just curious, why? Unless the guy that posted these pics, says he has seen this buck in previous years, I call him an escapee too. Deer looks like a 5 yr old, and it's hard to get something that big on small private land w/o it being fenced for management purposes.

Well, theres goes my theory. Definitely same deer from 2010. I guess all I can say is congrats on having a freak of nature out there. If he looks to be in good shape, I say pass on him. Give him another year to spread some genes around.

That first deer is very impressive
A hunt based on only trophies being taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be,time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and fish that live there. -Fred Bear

I would say he will gross book and net it also from what I can see in velvet. I might change my mind when he sheds his velvet. It is rare to see a buck like that is why it looks funny.

That is a great buck. For score reference, here is a buck I shot a couple of years ago. He looks a lot like the one posted. He grossed almost 170". That is an awesome buck and hope you get him.
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

Ranger Man is right, I have been getting photos of the buck in the 1st and 2nd photo for at least 4 yrs and maybe 5. He has been a 9 pt for the last couple of years. You can pick him out because his brow times grow close together and have looked the same every year.
A couple of years ago, we had 3 bucks running together that we called the "triplets". They were all 9pt with this one being the largest one of them. My son was able to take one of them that was the next to largest one and it field dressed 150 pounds.
This 10pt is the second largest deer that I have photos of on my ranch. The largest was a 14pt non typical that my neighbor actually shot last year. It was huge. You can see some of the photos of it in some of my earlier posts.
Since the fire, we don't have much natural stuff for the deer to eat, but I am feeding protein and plenty of it. I have 3 tanks, one is already dry and the other 2 are very low. I will be planting food plots soon, but without rain it won't do any good. I am praying for rain, because I really don't want to see a buck of this stature die from lack of food or water.
