Well today was very interesting. Started out with me dismounting from my vehicle to help pull security while a couple guys worked on their truck. As I was walking up I noticed a red and black wire sticking out of some rocks and instantly thought oh $hi@ IED. We got everyone out of the area and interrogated it and found a small IED most likely meant for Afghan Army so that was a close call coulda been a bad day. A few hrs later we were continuing our route clearance when I broke off the convoy to pull overwatch on an area when BAMM my truck hit approx. 100 LB IED blew the rollers on the front of the truck over 200 yards from blast sight along with parts of the truck. Everyone walked away with no more than a headache and sore neck from when the vehicle lift up and slammed back down. I wish I could post pics but that would be breaking OPSEC and I just cant do it.

Trying to be careful but no matter how much you try u cant always win. My company has hit 2 IEDs in the last 2 days. The first day was my truck I was hit by approx. 100LBs of HME or homemade explosives ie. furtilizeer, ammonium nitrate the same stuff the Oklahoma city bomber used. Everyone was okay just blew the truck up pretty good it was a crazy ride LOL. The second yesterday was smaller didnt do much damage.

Just keep on your toes, get it over and get ur arsh home soldier

Well we actually found an IED today before it blew us up the Aussie patrol a few miles in front of us wasn't so lucky they hit 2 IEDs and had a guy lose a hand.

I'm glad yall were alright,just hate that young man lost his hand, just keep a sharp eye and get home safe.. Prayers up the the young Ausie..

Well we had another very eventful day today. Started off great we found another IED and then we hit 2 more IEDs we then proceeded to chase some triggermen without success. This makes 4 IED strikes and 3 finds for my company in 3 days. Id say things are heating up.

I glad y'all found them instead of a convoy. Keep up the good work.
Does your company keep records as to how many y'all have found in all?
