I have a game winner from academy that was way under 100 and I really like it. It's got a camel back and other features.

I got a RUSH 12 from 5.11 and love it. Paid $80 for it during 5.11 Days at GT Distributors(happens every May) and dropped a 60oz hydration pouch in it for an extra $20. It'll hold about 2-3 day's worth of clothes and snacks/misc items in the smaller pockets. Then you can use any MOLLE gear to attach to the sides or, if the bag's not big enough, it can be strapped onto one of the larger RUSH packs from 5.11(or another larger pack that has MOLLE webbing on the side). I can't speak highly enough about this pack.

Badlands Pursuit Day pack, $79.99 from Cabelas, is the best day pack I have ever had!! I also have the Super Day Pack for longer trips.

I like Badlands, that is a good bag for 80.00, may have to get that one...I keep hoping they will come up again on camofire.com

Omahas in fort worth is an army surplus store. I buy a lot of my gear there. Got a military assault pack for $50. They have the same med bag I used in Iraq for $75. All are Molle tactical packs so you can add pouches etc.

I love mine!

I use a MOLLE army backpack. They hold up to anything and have been designed for easy carry. If it is good enough for our military it is good enough for me. Since I live next to Ft Hood I can pick these up at surplus stores, but you can find them online as well.

Battlelabs makes good gear bags, but I actually use a belt pack with suspenders for hunting purposes, much more comfortable and carries plenty for the day. If I use big packs for hunting I get too much crap in it

Being former military I tend to stick with military gear. If it works for combat it'll work for hunting.

Both have a couple of pouches added to them. Up until about 3 years ago I still used my old metal framed large ruck. These 2 bags straped together carry just as much far more comfortably.

I have been hanging the same A.L.I.C.E. on my back for two decades and I bet I fall apart before she does. Holds way more than I care to carry, but compacts nice and tight when only holding the essentials.

I get an email ad or two a week with them for around $20 used without a frame, and around $50 used with a frame. I have never used the frame that was on mine originally.

Every time I think of getting something more modern all the reviews of broken zippers and Velcro that wont hold changes my mind.

I was that way too, till I tried a new MOLLE pack. Now I haven't given away my old Alice packs(med and large are still in the basement on frames) but everytime I go out to the woods with my new pack they get that much closer to becoming donation material.

5.11 Rush 24. Plenty of pockets and it is a tough bag.

I've always been a fan of Kelty products. For day hiking and ten day camps. Both my Kelty's have been great.

Belgian paratroopper ALICE pack for $25 is pretty hard to beat.

Are you looking for a day pack to carry to your stand or a serious back pack?

I've got several backpacks:

For my hunting pack (out walking or to the stand) I carry a Camelbak Ranger - http://www.amazon.com/CamelBak-Ranger-100-Ounce-Hydration-Pack/dp/B0019DCKVE

It can carry plenty of gear (snacks, rope, knife, 100 oz of water, gloves, etc) and still be comfy. I've since attached my quiver to it, which seems like it'll work out good.

For long trips, I have my trusty old North Face Snow Leopard: They are long since out of production (I bought this one probably around 91 or so) It will NOT meet your $100 budget -


For shorter trips, I have an old North Face Crevasse, I can't find a picture of it, but it's the easiest thing ever to access. It has a full length horseshoe zipper, so getting to gear is super easy. I carried it when I was attempting to climb Gannett Peak, but got snowed out while still on the glacier, about 3-4 days in. I stowed my Snow Leopard back at the bottom of the mountain.

For rucksack duty, I have an old Camp Trails pack, been carrying it since 87. It toted my books all through school and college, and I still use it from time to time.

I also own an old Mountainsmith, the original one. It got me through Philmont and several other treks before I bought my Snow Leopard. My buddy still carries it today.
