It was a quick but active week at KCR. A few happy hunters below and a few nice pics from the field.

I finally got to meet Glynn and put a face to a fellow knife lover and want to say thanx to Glynn and his family for ALL the hospitality on our hunt and man that was one heck of a hunt!! I've never seen so many high quality animals!! Thought I was at Ted Nugents Ranch! Totally exhausted and satisfied. My count was 1 Axis and 2 Blackbuck, the second Blackbuck is going to the taxidermist! 22" on the horn! and beautifully marked. Could have gotten a Gold Medal++ Fallow, and an Axis that looked over 31" if I had deeper pockets! Just takin a raincheck on them! Had Axis tenderloin and backstrap w/BB backstrap on the grill last night and both my 7 year old twins asked for it for lunch today! Yummy!! I'll sit down and write a blow by blow and post it as soon as I recover. Special shout out to Zim excellent guide service!!! Five Star Ranch!!! Thanx Tim

The 22" is around the curls right and not straight tape?

Bulldog4949 You would be correct,w/gorgeous dark brown hide. I'm exited about trying my hand at a bow, I saw several golden oppurtunities where absolute monsters walked within 30 yds. of the bow stands!

Cool. Mine was 18" straight and 22 7/8 around the curls but he didnt have the nice pretty dark cape. I wanted that. But oh well mine is at the taxi already. It will look good regardless. Nice animals by the way.

Awesome, congrats on the blackbuck. The blackbuck is beautifully marked. Sounds like an awesome hunt, Glynn has an incredible ranch and Zim is a top notch guy as well.

Keane,(hope i got the spelling close)just judging from the angle, looks like around the area of #7. Next time I get down there I'm making it an obligation to turn #2 an #7 into a bow hunters "paradise" like we talked about. Thank you fellows for the shout outs! I enjoy every minute I'm there with folks like ya'll and look forward to doing it again! Glynn has given us the opprotunity for good times and even better hunting!!!
Tim- Love your work and I'm excited about the new knife! Been showing mine off all week!!!! Let Ricky know that we are gonna safely "blow" something up this next week!

Zim

Imperial clover I believe. We planted and kept it watered. They have been all over it.

Looks more like a weed called sicklepod to me than clover. Nice animals!

Interesting, I am looking up this sicklepod and you may be right. We did plant Imperial clover, but looks like this weed has done well. I may need to shutdown that food plot and kill that weed off. Luckily the food plot is high fenced.

Regarding hunters, we can do as many as six in a group hunt. However, if individuals are booking we limit to two or three.

Good luck killing sicklepod, once it has made seed it will be around for a long time. You will have to spray it everytime it rains or you plow it from my experience. I would be all over the Imperial Clover folks for selling you seed that had sickle pod in it also.

What a fun hunting trip!! Just now recovering not so much from the trip as going to night shift cause of the heat! we got into Rock Springs at 6:00PM out to Koon's Canyon ranch by 6:30 a quick how do you do and into the ranger with Zim to blind #7 and BAM! About 30 min. into the hunt a nice Axis doe steps into the clear I got me some Axis steaks! There were two NICE Axis bucks and a couple of really nice 10 point whitetail one with eartag and one native. We end up eating steaks at midnight courtesy of Keen Carroll there to Bow hunt for a trophy Axis, 5:30AM and it's out to a new stand I notice some white silhouettes it's Fallow doe and following cautiously behind the biggest Fallow buck I've ever seen! Just then along another tree line I notice a tree branch move, it's the rack of a monster Axis buck. Then a big daddy Ram comes running in and chases everything out! So i look behind me and there's three Axis does. Glynn picks me up and we go to get my hunting buddy Ricky, he's on here as wildlife-1, when we get to his blind there are two massive Ibex sparring in front of his blind! Then back to the lodge and the A/C. Then some big Rams come in so it's out to watch Glynn film Ricky taking a big one w/a bow he hit him in the ribs and the arrow broke the ribs on both sides shot clean through! The only way we knew he was hit was he dropped after about 75 feet. Then it's out to blind #2 and I see so many Whitetail I just can't stand it when a nice Blackbuck steps out of the trees and it's a nice set of horns for the wall and some nice antelope meat for the smoker! Next morn it's back to #7 where I see four big Fallow bucks three big Axis buck a big group of whitetail bachelors all native and then a group of Blackbucks with one dark brown mature male I just can't resist! When I go down to get him he comes back to life on me and takes off I try once at a dead run and miss so I go for center mass and don't! through three ribs on the right and out the left shoulder wow! That one is goin to the taxidermist! We get back to camp and Keen has taken another big Ram w/a bow! This place is just crazy cool! Seen several turkey and more trophy Whitetail than I've ever seen! I can't wait to go back, a much overdue and needed vacation. Thanx Glynn and Zim that's the best hunting trip I've ever been on. Glynn just smiles and says oh it get's better! These are the memories you carry with you always! The best tasting game I've ever had that walk in cooler is the way to go! Thanx Glynn, Tim
