Used to make Kauses an at least an annual stop. Last year I ate there and sauerkraut tasted like it had pineapple in it???? Went to Oma's and it was great! My new favorite. also, a place on Fountain View in Houston, can't remember name (alzheimers or Anhieusers, don't know which) Very good, maybe a little pricey. Phi

I must agree, Zur Autobahn is by far the best place to get fresh German food. My mom and I first tried it in September of last year. We were impressed then, but even more so this time. My mom came down to the lake and I asked what she wanted for dinner and she didn't know. So, I decided I'd take a chance and see if there was a spot available at Zur Autobahn...thankfully there was. The service was once again outstanding as was the food. I tried something different this time, the #6 (I have no idea how to pronounce it): Roulade with Rotkraut! All I can say is that thing is the most awesome dish I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Geesh. I need to learn how to make that. It was busy tonight, but thanks to me calling ahead and making a reservation, we were seated and served very quickly. I cannot recommend this place enough. They do take credit/debit cards, but only Visa and Mastercard. Oh and the saurkraut...WOW AGAIN! Here is a link to their dinner menu. Seriously, guys and gals, this place is AWESOME!

Both Jorge's and Bavarian Grill are excellent. I might give Jorge's a slight edge on Schnitzel, but with regards to the rest of the menu, and real German beer, Bavarian Grill is the way to go. Several times it has been selected as the #1 German Restaurant in America.
