I think anything like this will raise question, but thats how people are. If I was you I would hold my head up high and be proud of that lizard. You did something that alot of people only wish they could do!

I think you left a word out there, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. Great job bear, as long as you were on private land and have tags your good to go. God's creatures are very tasty, and there are plenty of them.

Just saw this on the channel 5 news in Dallas. seems the state is questioning the legality of this. Channel 8 and Channel 11 said the same thing. The landowner has filed a complaint with authorities as a result. The landowner claims that no permission was given to hunt on his land. Rut Row!

It seems the $$$ and libs/peta/hsus are fueling problems. I just hope all the T's were crossed and the I's were dotted. Good luck Levi.

Great job bear, as long as you were on private land and have tags your good to go.
That is if it was open gator season and there was permission granted by the landowner.

I am under the impression that Rivers and a certain footage off the banks are public property. If this is true why would he need permission from a land owner?

This is a shame. These hippies have ruined a once in a lifetime experience for this guy. Good luck to you bear. Please Keep us updated. Um no, It is being investigated because alligations have been made by the property owner, as well as the OP's own admissions on this board which is Frequanted by many Game Wardens as to how it was harvested, the fact its one of the largest Alligators Taken is just making it worse. I honestly hope he is in the clear and the blame gets tossed on the guide for not properly making sure it was harvested in acordance with TPW Regulations and for failing to have permission to hunt on the Proprty it was harvested from. I am under the impression that Rivers and a certain footage off the banks are public property. If this is true why would he need permission from a land owner? That is part of the problem you can't use a firearm to harvest an alligator from public waters, or at least thats how I read it in the TPW Regulations Manual.

So what's the conclusion? Did the state finish its investigation?
