Should last you a long time, especially if your staying away from hot loads. Just watch for splits.

I started reloading when I was 13, seems like my friend's Dad muttered something like "don't squash your fingers". That was for a .218 Bee and we were using one of the Lyman "nutcrackers". Reloading isn't rocket scientist work, just find a good mentor and be careful. Sort of like carpentry work, measure twice, cut once. Since you are reading this, that is the most important thing you can do--read and read more. If something sounds strange then double check it. 32 grains of Bullseye is most likely a misprint and should be 3.2 grains, but the publisher of the data will have a disclaimer somewhere. Great information guys. I just recently got on a good lease and am getting back into shooting alot more. I have loaded a few rounds with my uncle about 15 or so years ago and just recently wanted to start doing this myself for my deer rifles and handguns. I plan on spending some time with my uncle when I am down at the lease to help me get started.

Hang around the reloading section, read the post threads, check the classifieds for some great deals, pick up a couple of reloading manuals, Cabellas has some classes on Sundays. Find a mentor in your area to walk you through.

I've had RCBS, and Pacific Multi C all of my reloading life..I only use a Lee hand primer...nothing wrong w/their equipt...but it's a little lighter built than some of the other mfgs..and also
cheaper..RCBS has a good Started Kit w/Scale,Press, Powder Measure, Lube Pad & Lube..ect..but you will still need some more
items..I'd get a Lyman Primer Pocket Tool to clean and square the
pockets, and Probably a case trimmer to trim my brass after about
every 5 or so reloads..You'll probably end up spending around $500 to $600 time you are setup and buy some supplies, ect..But
you should really get some help in person for another reloader.
Oh, don't forget to lube the inside and outside of the cases..we
all stick or have stuck cases in dies...no matter how long you do
this....I looked the other way a wk. or so ago..and did it again.

Reloading is also about shooting, specially shooting at paper. If i had to do it all over again a chrony would be on top of my list. It just take the guessing out of the way. Also a log book is essential, i still have records of all the loads i ever tested, fps, size, i used to cut out the targets and paste them ir copyright the groups to the log book. Its very important to record what doesnt work too.

great section , i just got a 10/16 building insulated and wired and walled it build my bench yesterday, am almost ready to start getting all my reloading stuff togathier, my best buds dad has reloaded for many years and has been adviseing and guideing he is priceless , would yal recommend starting with a pistol round or rifle, my two handgun rounds i want to start with are 45 acp, and 45 long colt , the first two rifle rounds will be 45/70 goverment and 7 mag remmy , i think i have the basic skills to be a good reloader as i run a lathe at my job doing machine work , both manuals and cc type, am used to percission measerments and working in the thousands machine parts to two thousands tolerates all time , was wondering which of above rounds would be most forgiving to start with am building up slowly as said just got my shack ready , and am going to get my reloading stuff a little at time as i have the extra money thanks guys and be ready for a lot of qustions as i start this

am within a hour of a bass pro shop, am going to try and see if they have any reloading classes , am a ways from a calbleas but may be woth a weekend to drive up and attended one

Piney Woods - 45 ACP is an incredibly easy round to start loading.

Piney Woods - The Tuesday night classes at Cabelas in Allen might be a better one for you to attend for pistol reloading. The guy that teaches it is a pistol competition shooter and reloader. If you have an experienced reloader around you that can be a valuable resource for learning as well. There are guys on here that have done well with reading and watching the videos on youtube. There are some links to good videos in the tips thread.

Would it be okay to keep a reloading bench in my garage which isnt air conditioned.? I live in South Texas where it gets really hot.

My bench is inside the house but a lot of people have their benches in the garage. I would not store my powder and primers in the garage but the bench is fine there.

+1, and the same question in Bryan/College Station where it is HOT and humid. I was planning on putting the reloading station in the garage.

For a Press I can not speak highly enough of the Lee Classic Cast Turret Press or if you really wish to go with a single stage only the Lee Classic Cast Single Stage.

But the Lee Classic Cast Turret Press can be used as a Turret or Single Stage plus another advantage is that you can set your die's up in the Turret and leave them alone. Turrets are cheap and you can change them in probably 5 seconds lol.

+1 that on the kits, spend a little more and get the Hornady or RCBS for the Lifetime warranty, RCBS doesn't even ask what you were doing when you break something! Just mail you a new one no questions asked.
