I know this has been posted before but I always have issues using the search. I am trying to talk my Dad into getting on board with building a wildlife guzzler at our main deer stand where our protein feeder is. There is only one place on the ranch (a windmill) with constant water source and I think putting a water guzzler would put our spot over the top for bringing in wildlife to our stands rather than other places, even if the feeders go empty. We currently fill a 50 gallon trough by hand when ever we are out, but that typically goes dry well before we can get back out to replenish it. Does anyone have a set of plans or could you refer me to the thread a couple of months back that had all of the pictures of the guzzler? Thanks. Also if you have built one, about how much money should we be looking at. We are thinking about building the frame out of cedar posts rather than paying for lumber

We use the outback 500 gallon guzzler. When rain is scarce we use this setup to top it up.

How far is the windmill from your settup?
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

it is about half a mile walking straight there, but it is not easy to get to at all from there, at least for me. I am sure it is a little easier for the critters though. Very steep down hill covered in thick cedar from spot to windmill. Are you thinking a guzzler would be unnecessary that close to the windmill?

Here you go, really easy to build and will hold 320 gallons.

Cool info jehmmmag, great looking setup,it will definitely bring the animals in even if there is a windmill 1/2 mile away.In my opinion your better off hunting water sources in west/south/northwest texas than a feeder in a drought year.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.
