Hey guys I need some help. Myslef and four other injured soldiers just got picked up for a sporting clays team and we need to get some shotguns. We are new to sporting clays so they dont have to be super awesome guns. We have rifles that we could trade or if you guys know of any good deals out there could you please let me know. Us five are going to be the official sporting clays team for the Wounded Warrior Project. If you havent heard of it just google it. They are doing some really great things for injured servicemembers. I know they have done alot for me and alot of other soldiers so now with our team we are going to be shooting charity events trying to give back to the project and earn them a little money. THanks guys.

I'd help out a fellow scout in a heart beat if I was able. Unfortunately I still don't have enough guns myself and don't even have a dedicated clay gun at all. Good luck with the competitions and recovery from your injuries.

Thanks, recovery has gone well. It has been six and a half years now so I am as good as I am going to get. Now I am just focused on the soldiers that are still coming back that are messed up and need our help. I see youa re form Killeen, Are you with first cav? I was with 3/7.

and what about wounded warriors buying them for you if you can get enough sponsors to donate the amount.
that way you can negotiate a good deal on a bunch of yildiz, stoeger, remmy. as a group buy and the donating parties could get a tax write off for donating to the wounded warrior project. kind of like donating money to the church that will ultimately go to a mission trip.
check and see if they will go for that. if so, i will donate.

We are looking into that right now but all of us really need to start practicing so we want to get our own guns. That way if we have our own we can hit the range anytime we have free time. But they are trying to get approval to get some guns through the project.

Loaners would be awesome! I just dont know if I would feel comfortable borrowing something like that. I know the guys would take good care of them but there are always accidents that can happen especially with how much they would be used.

I think your sacrifices for us more than outlay any damage that could be done.

We are all shooting out of Houston. But if a shoot was set up else where we could certainly make a trip. We were going to go to our local range also and see if there was any interest.

If any of you are shooting 20 gauge, I have an over/under Yildiz that you are welcome to use until something better becomes available. Let me know.

I understand, but the offer stands if you change your mind. I will also make a donation if there is a way to establish a 'Guns for Wounded Warriors' fund.

Wow guys thank you so much for your generosity. It really warms the heart to know that there are that many americans out there that support us. And again I dont want to sound ungrateful but it would really make me uncomfortable borrowing guns from anyone. But really thank you so much for the offer. I talked with the project and there is a whole bunch of reasons why we couldnt start a fund and get the guns through them. They are a high profile non profit and wouldnt be able to take donations to get us guns. SOme of the guys on our team have PTSD so they couldnt get past the background check. I dont get it. The best therapy for something like that is resocializing and being around people which is what shooting clays is about. I know how well the outdoors and shooting sports heals the mind and body. If a fund were to be started we wouldnt be able to do the in kind tax deductible paper work. It would have to be put together and then one of us would buy them and act as the armor. It would be great to get that going but we do have rifles and some cash to buy some used, or if we can find a good deal on 5 guns, some new fairly cheap guns. Again thank you guys so much for all of your offers this it is just really amazing the patriots we have here in TEXAS!

so long as you are taking the liability for owning the guns, you should be fine.
sounds like we just started a non tax deductible fund....
count me in for $100
