From what I've gathered from the post, the outfitters aren't real big on answering phones or emails! Glad I went south this year

Saw plenty of pigeons and that was it. I went to 12,13,3,4,5 and they all have been plowed down to the ground. Field 2 hasn't been touched and field 1 is the only one that hasn't been plowed all the way so it will most likely be down by next weekend.

I e-mailed these guys asking for a 50% refund due to the fact that most of the fields have been basically ruined by plowing halfway through the season. As has been the pattern with them, they have not answered. Do we have any legal recourse here---it was not indicated to me either verbally or in writing in the agreement that the fields would be plowed halfway through the 2 month lease.

There is no way they will give any of us a refund, what they did was sorry and wrong, but I just don't see how it is a breech of contract, because even though the sunflowers are gone you can still go out there and "hunt".

Needless to say I am going to be looking for a new group to hunt with next year. I like the set up they have of having different fields in different places and I enjoy being able to go out west for a few days from time to time. So if anyone knows of or finds a good seasonal Dove lease, let me know. I'm not going to pay a fortune but I'm not afraid to spend good money on a good place.

Even though there's probably no breech of contract, it is still a good idea to ask for a partial refund. That's a clear message that hunters are not happy with the lease management. And who knows, DFW Hunt may grant the refund in hopes of keeping a client.

" No breach of contract"---true, I guess. But what about breach of integrity and character? Guess these guys have neither. Live and learn, I guess. I found this operation on this forum and if they advertise on here again next year I will make damn sure to inform interested folks of EXACTLY what my experience with them has been like to hopefully keep them from making a costly mistake.

Go to the website and read the report and pull up the maps from out West and tell me if those are the same field maps that we paid for?

I think that had they not seen this thread they would not have posted anything on their website. They obviously didn't live up to the things they said they would do (updating the website as field conditions change---WOULDN'T THAT INCLUDE PLOWING?), didn't respond to numerous e-mails and phone calls AFTER people had paid( strange how they were posting regularly and returning calls BEFORE the season , isn't it?), and now they are trying to make up for it because people started realizing what kind of operation this really is. I don't blame them for the doves not being there, they have no control over that. They do have control over their customer service, however, and for the price paid, I expected ALOT more than what was provided ( is it really that hard to respond to an e-mail or answer the phone?). Really disappointing, IMO.

Hi Treebass. If memory serves, I think I found their thread in the Outfitters and Guides section in July. I can't pull the archives from that far back, but I'm pretty sure it was there.

Noticed today they had an update..... and explained a little bit about how they find fields. I'm not leasing thru them, but thought about looking at one of the deer leases.

Its all about the money. Which I understand that to a point, but now they have added and removed fields, which you guys can't see because you can't access the maps without a membership. But I think that, (adding fields that I have no idea where they are, and removing the few good ones that where left, in particular out west) along with the other good fields being plowed under and last but not least the fact that they sub-leased the best fields the first few days. Well all of those things combined have really pissed me off. I paid for the premium package, and spent premium money but did not receive premium service. And thats the bottom line. Maybe my frustration is compounded by the fact that this has been a crappy season. If birds where thick like they where to start the season, or if more would have moved in with some cold fronts like they normally do then maybe I would overlook some of this stuff.

Like I have said before, I am one of the few people that is willing to pay for a dove lease that many other people may view as too expensive for dove hunting. But as with everyone else, I expect to get my money's worth or at least get what I paid for. And with the sub-leasing and now switching all the fields and plowing the other ones up, obviously I am not getting what I paid for. So buyer beware for future reference.

dfw is known for overhunt the first 2 weeks. heck, they might as well install an atm machine on every corner of their fields...

I don't have anything in this, but thinking of people for next year! This was from their post on 08/04:

We had about 15 people out for the tour. The fields are 95% Sunflower and should provide excellent hunts through the season this year.

We still have private/group fields available in this area and Eastland as well. May also have another private/group field for opening day/week up North over Milo if anyone is intereseted.

October Update:

Last time I checked the season is 2 weeks from over, and it has sucked almost all year. There are no sunflowers left because they have all been plowed.
