About 2 weeks ago I took her to the vet, it was the other eye. They did not know what it was, maybe it was an allergenic reaction to something. Or bite? Don't see a bite mark..

Any oozing, eye 'goop', tearing or redness in the flesh inside the lid? Since it was one eye, then the other, I would guess it's either an allergic reaction to something OR an eye infection. Did the vet give you an ointment? When we've had dogs with swollen, red or oozing eyes, we've used Terramycin ointment, which we get at the feed store.

Any oozing, eye 'goop', tearing or redness in the flesh inside the lid? Maybe a little more than normal tearing over the last few weeks, or maybe no and we have just been watching her more than normal since this happened about 2 weeks ago to her right eye. Did the vet give you an ointment They gave her a shot last time, and some ointment, can’t remember what. I chose not to buy the tube. I’m always buying medication that I never use again, she was fine the next day. I just called my vet, they said to give some benadryl and see how she does. They think she is having an allergic reaction to something.

My first thought would be a grass seed under the eyelid but if it happened once and now again you are probably right about the allergy. Have you planted any new plants or trees he may be rubbing on? Good luck and keep us posted.

Gosh, this time of year, the allergy could be just about anything! But if the benedryl does the trick, you know the culprit is an allergen! You might suspect (in addition to everything budding) foods, changes in bedding or anything the dog lies on (new carpet cleaner, new dog bed, new laundry soap used to clean dog stuff, even a new toy... ) Good luck!

Might want to ask your daughter if she's been using eye shadow along with the nail paint!

I would definitely use the benadryl. Sometimes a warm compress can help ease the swelling. Ive heard of dog having this problem when Febreze is used in the house.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Don't think a warm compress would be a good idea. Heat will increase swelling, icing will help reduce swelling.

It does look she has eye shadow on , I need to check with my lil girl on that. Her swelling got worse thru the morning I think, and I gave her benadryl around 12:00, and it has got better, I'll give her another dose right before bed..Hopfully, that does it. My kids been giving her these treats, that might be it..

I'd stop the treats, too.... rule out everything you can. Let us know how the benedryl works.

I did not give her another does of benedryl last night hoping it would go away w/o it, but still swollen this morning, so gave another does this morning and it looks better. So I will give another does tonight, and hopefully it will be gone in the morning, or I will be calling my vet again.

Gave 1 dose of benadryl AM Monday and Tuesday, it seemed to help. Gave 2 doses Wednesday (AM/PM)thinking that would do the trick, and it looks worse today. So taking her to the vet this morning. She is 5 and half yrs old, and never had this issue before..

Molly took a turn for the worse yesterday. Dropped her off at the vet 11:00AM, she got worse as the morning went on, right side of her face swelling, her ears swelling a bit. Picked her up 5:30PM, better, but more swelling in the ear, and bumps on her head…Then it got real bad last night, heavy swelling the face/ears, doc on call called me 10:30PM (thank god), heavy dose of meds (prednisone/benadryl), much better this morning.
Sure hope this goes away.

Poor girl. Its tough trying to figure out allergies. Sometimes dog food companies make changes to their recipes. Have you planted any new plants in the yard? Weed killer? Fertilizer? Ant killer? I would heavily water the yard and wait til it drys before letting her back on it. Wife or daughter changed hand lotion?

Man, that really sucks. Sounds like doc is on top of it though.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Yeah, those are some good ideas.. But doc said she could have developed an allergy to something she has been exposed to all her life.

Sorry to see this Guy, Hope she gets over it soon.
My first thought being in one area would have been an allergic reaction to a bite or sting. When I had a Lab that dog was always attacking every wasp and bumble bee it saw and always getting stung on it's head.
