I get a bit tickled at this "proof" stuff. My friend, I've had many Kodak moments in my life, rarely the timing or equipment to document proof.

I guess you'd never believe I met Jesus either. confused2

You know the old saying " For some proof is not necessary, for others proof is impossible".

If Jesus was standing with those Desert Bighorns that were over 300 miles from their native habitat and home in Bandera County then I would have to say no. But I never would doubt that you have met Jesus alone on different terms.

Jesus is always with those Bighorns. Everything else in Texas seems to be out of its native habitat especially in Houston.

the difference between the two, is that jesus exists, unlike the bandera county bighorns.

I know several ranchers in western bandera county, real county and edwards county......no bighorns. maybe some mouflon, painted deserts, texas dall and corsicans, but no bighorns.

heck, they have a hard enough time surviving in west texas.....they would be out-competed for food from day one in the hill country

they won't always publish what they're doing...but that's way to much money to be putting into that part of the state.

Well, they exist round my parts and I'm sure glad I got to see their beauty. There is a whole lotta unrestricted nothing from the Western Texas Hill Country to the Pacific Ocean. Nothing to stop the migration of a species.

You would need a permit to move them and then another permit to shoot one. Could only imagine what it the fine would be to shoot one of those Bandera County Desert Bighorns.popcorn

That's about a $200k animal in the HC that is considered wild and uninsured.

If TPWD even had wind of dessert bighorns in the hill country, I would be willing to bet they would do everything in their power to relocate them out of there. There is no way that is what you saw. I am not calling you a liar, simply saying that you may have seen another type of sheep. Those sheep would never leave the mountain areas in west Texas because they would not be as comfortable in the Hill Country. Just because there are Auddads in the HC does not mean they prefer it over the Atlas mountains. Why would bighorn sheep travel hundreds of miles when they are adapted to dessert mountains. They wouldn't.

"They wouldn't" and "they prefer"

Well there you have a definitive answer. I know two legged transplants that shouldn't be in the Texas Hill Country either but they are.

I don't presume nor speak for God and I ain't speaking for Bighorn sheep.

They were BigHorns.

There are no Jaguarundi,Jaguars, Kudamundi, or Ocelot around here either.

You have it right. I hate calling people liars too, but there is no way that luckenbach saw bighorns in the hill country. And even if ya did, I bet they are dead by now anyways.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
