That's correct! It's not high fence. Thanks Lazyman!

went out saturday night with scott. Nice guy, looked like nice land.Stands were nice too, but Not one hog was seen by me or my nephew. We stayed in till 4 a.m. then called it. Was disappointed that it cost me 200$ to take my gun for a walk.

sportlergolf4rad,
Did Scott pull the cards out of the cameras from the feeders that ya'll were hunting?
There was a 130lb sow taken on Friday night at around 10PM by a 17 year old girl on the stand that it's to the right just before crossing the river.

Whats the longest shot ya'll have from a stand?
sportlergolf4rad, do you have any complaints about the deal given the fact that nobody with a low fence property can promise that you'll see an animal?

he did, but that didn't really help us that night. He didn't mention that the girl. He told me when i booked that he only books one hunting group a weekend and he didn't do Friday nights. So i don't know how a girl shot one on Friday. He told us his son went during the week and didn't see any hogs then too.

i have never hunted here but have spoken with scott a few times but dates never panned out. he seems like a great guy. i have had about 20 or so hog hunts over the past year that yielded nothing. over half of them were paid hunts. understand the frustration about paying to take gun for a walk but i think this place will give you the best shot for the price. it has been rough in the hog hunting scene. they dont pattern like deer that is for sure.
i would suggest trying out some public hunting land. 48 bucks per year for license and go when you want to. then you dont feel that frustration in your gut because you at least you got to camp and get outdoors when you dont see anything.
it seems like others on the forum always post more hog slaughter pics from their land so you would think by all the talk they are everywhere adn just come out when the feeder goes off. well....they dont. if people would post all the times they went out and did not see anything vs the times they did... it would be a much different picture and easier to swallow when you pay and dont see anything.
just think.... if you go back your odds increase.

sportlergolf4rad,
The girl hunted on this side of the river (lease holders area), like I said it was the last deer stand on your right before crossing the river. She didn't hunt with Scott, she was not a "paid customer", she's the niece of one of the guys on the deer lease of the ranch and she was hunting with her uncle. I got a call from her uncle on Friday night at 9:55PM to tell me that she had just shot a sow, that's how I know.
The reason why I asked you about the memory cards it's because Scott sometimes if the hunter hunts all the way until the next morning past sunrise, didn't fall to sleep and didn't see anything and the cards show that nothing came in to the feeder, he "sometimes" depending on how nice the hunter is and if he likes you, he'll let you come back at another time free of charge. That's why I asked.
I think pretty much a couple of the guys here have said it pretty clear and I can understand how you feel, but that's the reason why it's called hunting and not slaughtering.

KellyAsh,
The shots from the blinds range from 30 yards to about 75 yards depending on the blind that you get.

Gotcha, is that the farthest shot you have from a blind? I'm wanting to shoot one from a few hundred yards off just because I've never shot one from more than about 50 yards and would pay for a 350-400 yard shot.
sportlergolf4rad, (I'm just going to call you sport because your name is ALL jacked up to type for me, lol) because the nature of hunting makes it so difficult to be successful on a consitent basis I rarely pay to hunt anything.
I can EASILY claim about a 5% success rate on hogs on the public lands I hunt (mostly bow hunts) and MUCH greater on the paid hunts I've taken (all rifle)... to the tune of around 50%. Granted, that's only my specific experience but nobody can convince me that you don't increase your odds by hunting private land that are known producers in the recent past.
Don't get impatient with paying and not getting anything on a low fence property. Nobody can control mother nature...except Uncle Sam, according to Jesse Ventura anyways, lol.

Kelly,
We do have places in the ranch where you can make a 400 yard shot or even longer, however they won't be to a feeder. Then to top it off, at that distance it'll be extremely hard to see at night even with the aid of motion detector lights.
Now, I'm mentioning night hunting simply because the odds are better since hogs are very nocturnal.
Thanks! PMC

I was thinking about bringing in a bucket or 2 of special sauced up corn the first night and creating an improvised feeding spot at a good location for a long shot and sitting over it in the mornings. That shot would be with my .308 and I'd bring an SKS for the night work at about 100 yards with a red 15 million candle power spotlight and a green Destroyer on my gun.
Whatever the situation, we'll make do with what we can and enjoy the hell out of it. It's the safe space to set up such a shot that I'm looking for. Thanks man.
Would you allow a week day and night hunt? It's alot easier for me to do a hunt then versus the weekend.
