From what I am seeing around the state, there are other places like this in operation. The industry is evolving, and part of that evolution is restructuring of what is being offered.
Anytime a "Service" that would be considered as available at an additional cost, can be absorbed by the people running the operation, without making a signifigant reduction to the income realized from each hunt, it is being worked into that operations system.

As long as it is posted in the Editorial Section, then I agree with the DMN's decision to allow the rebuttal. As long as they don't report it as facts. Read the top of the Editorial/Opinion section. It clearly states that these are opinions.
Regardless of whether or not you agree with them. They still have the right to say it.

That remains the mystery or at least I think it does.
Did anyone ever clarify where in the paper this article was located?
Was it on the Letters to the Editor page, in the Sports section, or was it an advertisement????

The letter is in Section 3-(SportsDay)of Sunday Sept. 16 DMN.
It is on page 3C in the "Sunday SportsDay Forum" section.
There is a headline "Dove Hunting" above a picture of a dove hunter.
The letter is underneath the picture with the heading "Stop hunting before doves become extinct"
It is definitely in an editorial section along with letters about Wade Wilson, Southlake Carroll, Tom Hicks, SMU ticket prices and several others.

Well than as much as I disagree with him, I respect his right to express it through a legal forum. That's what it's there for.

Thank You for getting that clarified.
It is up to the Managing Editor of the paper to decide where such an item should be placed.
Also, how many folks have noticed, that in a lot of the larger Metropolitan newspapers, the Outdoors Section, is the first one to be dropped if there is a re-structuring.
Printing such articles as the mans letter, performs many services.
Among them it lets the folks that don't really appreciate the level which some folks will go to, to spread their mis-guided beliefs.

Ya'll are absolutely right. The same Bill of Rights that allows him to have his say allows us to own our guns.
Don't think any of us want to give up the 2nd amendment to keep him from exercising the first.
It will be interesting to see if there are any pro-hunting responses in this Sunday's paper.

Has anybody looked to see if there were any published responses?

There was a response in last Sunday's paper that was critical of the original letter. I think the writer was from Harlingen.
