I won't talk you out of it. I had 2, XD40SC and XD40Tactical and loved them. I ran my Tactical through police academy, 1000 rounds in 4 days and no malfunctions, other than instructor induced . I only sold them because I am issued a Glock for work and wanted to keep things similar/compatible....So i got a 1911 and a 12 ga

I like a Glock because they fit my hand better. They also don't have all the 90 degree angles to try and get gun powder and goop out of. Other than that they are a great gun and if you like'em then buy one or three

If you are intrested I have a 9mm I bought off this forum a few months back. I will sell only because my wife says it is too much gun for her. She shoots a S&W 22 semi and shoots it good. My XD has 3 mags, a kelvar holster and factory holster. Also a streamlight with case also case for the xd. Gun is is good shape and shoots right on. $475 cash ftf or will ship at actual cost.

I owned both Glock 22 .40 and a springfield XD40 and will say the XD was the better of the 2 by a wide margin.
FYI i sold them both and bought a Sig...couldnt be happier

love my mid size 40. I have had it for 5 years and a countless amount of rounds through it. Not one hiccup yet.

I own two and love them, but make sure you buy it with night sites. I can't find anyone to put sites on mine locally. Everyone is telling me that I'll have to send them back to the factory.

If you are worried about the trigger, get an XDm .40. A little bigger, but one of the best guns on the market.

I have an XDm9. I wish I would have got the XD9 and had the factory trigger job done. I dont think they can do as good a trigger on the m model. That said, I carry one on my hip every day and put my life on it at work. It shoots like a dream, I gave up Glocks after shooting one.

Excellent pistol. Do not have a .40 but have an XD9 and an XD .45 tactical. Have not had any malfunctions with either. Like the cocked indicator and the chamber loaded indicator. Also like the grip safety. The trigger pull can be managed. You can take up the slack in the trigger and will reach a point where the trigger is ready to release. Have two glocks also. The XDM is a little more expensive but you get a longer sight radius, a match barrel and the abilty to change the grip configuration.

I handeled a XDm 9mm the other day an it was the best feeling polymer frame gun that I have ever held.
Edit: I have no clue how they shoot though.

I shot my friends XD and liked it. The trigger felt better than my glock.
I'd say go for it, If you don't like it you can sell it in the trade section and get something else.
