Ok bring in a gun to me that won't run steel. Bet you $200 bucks it will when we are done.

Bet a dollar not the problem? LOL, funny stuff here. We have a gauge that measures the gas port. Some become clogged or not up to spec diameter from factory. Or the gas block is canted not centered on the gas port. I have asked you numerous times what barrels you are using that are coming from the factory with out of spec gas pot holes and you sill have yet to respond. Adding a muzzle device is NOT the way to fix an SBR. Thats the jerry rigging way.
You are saying that adding a noveske KX-3 muzzle device to an SBR/pistol upper to adress teh gassing issues is jerry rigging ?

A member here called me with his SBR wanting to order that muzzle device. Brought his gun in and other problems were present. So instead of selling him the 100 dollar muzzle device we fixed his gun for free. Wouldn't work before, now its flawless. All our SBR's run with a factory A2 birdcage.

Ok bring in a gun to me that won't run steel. Bet you $200 bucks it will when we are done. After you mutilate the gas port hole and over gas it how will it then handle brass ammo. From some of your "mis typed" solutions to problems I would prefer to work on my own firearms.

Again I would be will ing to bet a muzzle device designed for this problem would ALSO solve teh problem but this thread is about steel case ammo not teh gassing problems with SBR/pistol uppers

I agree. Wish it was brand specific. Sometimes its just filthy from running a .22 conversion kit. We deal with whatever customers bring us in to fix.

Im not sure why you have turned this thread into SPR/pisol gassing issues ? I though it was about steel cased ammo.
I have asked this several times and you still keep going back to the SBR/pistol thing so I will assume you will not give an answer and respectfully bow out of this convorsation.
One thing I will add to anyone who is having problems with steel cased ammo , and take it for what its worth, is DO NOT start with opening the gas port hole. This can cause over gassing with brass ammo and can cause irreversinle damage to the barrel.
This first thing I would suggest is adding a heavy duty extractor spring kit. (not just teh vinton o ring the spring is actually what does teh most to help) This is also a good idea in any AR weather shoot steel or brass as it virtually illiminates teh problem with fail to ejects.
Not all rifles will like EVERY brand of steel cased ammo.

Not all rifles will like EVERY brand of steel cased ammo. I'm not gonna keep arguing. Extractor upgrade is mandatory in my opinion as well. Not sure what question it is that I have failed to answer. We have never over opened a gas port ever, and never damaged anyones barrel. Again we use a gauge to measure the hole, if its too small or clogged we clean it or open it only to factory spec.

Colt's gas port sizes * 10.5" - .093 * 11.5" - .081 * 14.5" - .063 * 16" - .063 These are the factory specs, we check these measurements. There is no specific make, just random customers. Sometimes the finish gets in from the factory and needs removing.

Most of the time the gas port needs opening up, because its not getting enough gas. If your gun is set up properly it should run steel like a raped ape. How many hundreds of times to have to repeat. Its not brand specific on the steel cased problems. Random customers bring in there guns because they can't shoot steel. Gas port is not super common but does indeed happen.
Wait, which one is it?

Wait, which one is it? Keep digging. Trolling? I'm not gonna keep arguing, come by our shop if you think we don't know what we are doing. Currently have 75 or so guns in for work, most repeat customers.

I could care less if If you think I contradicted myself. Arguing on the internet is pointless. We can go round in circles quoting and its all pointless. We fix steel problems, by chamber, extractor, and checking/servicing the gas system.
