I admit it, I'm a fan of hunting shows and I'm not going to name any specific shows. But if you really want me to turn the channel and stop watching your show. Just let me see you sneaking up or stalking the camera. And if you ever let me see you following a blood trail and the camera mans already standing beside or behind the animal videoing you, your history.

2 shows lost a fan last weekend.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Some of those shows are pretty "entertaining" and I use that term loosely.

The only ones I like are where they are hunting in Texas. I really just like to see the country and the animals are secondary.

The ones I won't watch are the Drury brothers. I do not think showing a hunter leave the woods with out recovering a shot animal is good.

I have heard all of the arguements, but my question is, How Many Folks That Hunt In Texas, Would Go Off And Leave An Animal In The Pasture Dead, Overnight, With Their Only Concern Being The Recovery Of The Antlers The Next Morning.

To me, and ethics have been being bashed all over this place, that is Bad hunting ethics, and should not be condoned.

Man, I think Drury are the best shows. Don't be knocking the Drury boys. They can hunt and shoot some good videos. Their hunting network is giant. And if a person makes a mistake, they'll let them have it typically.

Where did they let the deer stay overnight and what was the temp? Almost all shows do that. In Texas that is wasteful if it isn't going to be below 40. But if you know you will push that deer, no point in losing it completely with no hope of recovery.

Nuge will lose an animal for two days and freak out when he finds it. You think that is going to taste good? That's life and it happens.

The camera shot from the dead animal is pretty cheesy.

I get a big kick out of the ones where they are tracking a buck that has been shot in deep snow, and when they spot the deer they say "THERE HE IS" then they start walking over there to get their "first" look at him, but you can clearly see foot prints in the snow all around the deer from where they had found him 10 minutes ago.

I have a drinking game for you....
Watch Realtree Outdoors and down a beer or shot every time you here the words
"What a deer!!" You'll be walking like a Blue Crab before the end of a thirty minute segment.

A few months back I saw Larry Weishun the single shot guy hit and wound two different bucks on two different shows. I watched them from tivo in slow motion. On one espisode when he so called missed , he said he followed his deer deer tracks! How many hundreds if not thousands of tracks are around a south Texas stock pond. What a Jack [censored].

I tell you I would let Tiffany Lakoski get in the stand with me with 5:30 am morning breath anytime!

Once again, I totally disagree 100%. L
You have never bow hunted have you? I’ve left deer over night several times and everything turned out OK. It only took me one-time; when I was 13 years old, to lose a giant buck that I had arrowed because I pushed him when I shouldn’t have. Had I waited, I would have found him in the morning 50 yds. away. Letting them expire overnight is indeed a proper and ethical practice. Why do you think they do it??? Maybe it is because the probability of a recovery is dramatically increased if there was a questionable shot.

Apparently.... none of you guys have ever FILMED a TV show before. At least... don't think any of your mugs have been on the TV screen lately!

A good producer/director can make or break a show....and I haven't seen one of them yet that direct the animal being hunted into the right "scene" or camera angle so that you the viewer can see what is going on!

They can make it look too easy.. when in actual fact.... it is not.

If you think you can do a better job... then by all means... make your own video and send it in...!

I do not believe that showing an animal being left in the woods overnight portrays hunters as being the "Conservationists" they claim to be. How many of you on here would shoot a doe or a cull buck so late in the day, to have to go off and leave it, in hopes that the coyotes or hogs don't eat the thing. My money goes with very few if any.

Now, how many of you would shoot that once in a lifetime buck and not care, as long as the rack was recovered?

The concept, is we are supposed to be killing the animal as quickly and humanely as possible. If you shoot it right at dark and think it was a good hit, mark the last place you saw it, go back to camp, eat supper and then go back out a couple of hours later and see if you can find a blood trail.

With Texas deer seasons, between the heat and the critters, any animal left out over night won't be fit to eat.

Somehow, I really think that if all a person cares about is recovering a rack, than they are hunting for the wrong reason. JMO.

there are just too many of those "hunting shows" that after the animal is killed they act like they are afraid to walk in the woods after dark or act if they dont know how to use a flashlight...we have never left an animal in the woods...unless its a pig that ran off & that sort....never deer

& for that Tif chick...honestly how many women that ACTUALLY hunt go into the woods in full makeup & fixed hair...u KNOW the deer are going to smell all that & im female lol

Yes, I left them at the lodge the first night. It is a good thing I didn't see anything. I sure didn't have to leave any animals over night. CHC would have been proud.
