you're gonna be feeding hogs. Wait till that 400 lb boar comes barrelling thru that wire and 40 littler ones right behind him. they'll eat the whole barrell in one feeding.

put T posts every 8 foot .. Or, take off the spinner plates off and make it a on demand feeder.. You can convert it for about 15 dollars and the deer can eat but the hogs cant get to it. Go to home depot, but a 4 inch plastic toilet flange, 4 inch plastic pipe, 4 inch wye, and a 4 inch plstic cap. glue them together and cut the pipe so the spout on the wye is 42 inches off the ground. Google redneck deer feeder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=297WqtJz-hk

Deer can eat anytime, hogs cant get to it. I converted mine over after the season was over and I love it. Screw the hogs. when the season openas again I'll convert it back over to a spinner and a timer. Right now I'm feeding protein and corn mixed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=297WqtJz-hk

Good job, looks good.
We generally do not have an issue with hogs being able to get past the panels. I have only seen one do it in ten years. Just make sure the panels are well secured to the tee post.

T posts every 8 feet, and overlap the last segment of each panel. Stronger that way.

I think it looks like you did a good job and I dont think you will have any trouble with it. I know all this talk of 400 lb hogs always comes around, but how many 400 lb hogs do you see, I have yet to see one other than pics on the internet that... well.. dont look like 400 lbs to me.
Yeah hogs can get in, but more than likely they wont. Deer can jump a high fence... but wont unless they are pushed. I would say it wont work as a trap to keep them in, but it will surely deter them from getting in.

My posts are every 8 feet. If I see any trouble with them pushing in, I will add more posts where needed. I am anxious to go back in a couple of weeks and see if I have any problems yet.

Got the same set up, maybe a little bigger. Have had it up since 02 and have plenty of hogs on the ranch. Never had a problem with hogs or cattle getting thru it..so far...

Great looking pen... don't listen to those negative remarks giving you a hard time. I've had hog pannel pens up for 12 years and have never had a hog get inside. I guess it could happen, but if they're hungry enough to go into a pen they should also be easily trapped and eliminated.

How much did each panel cost you? I guess 8 panels X 16 T-posts=?? Thanks!!

I have a trap that looks just like that but the panels are 5' tall. If they cant get to it, they just spread the legs and lower the feed to their height.
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

If they do happen to get through the hog panels, what else can I do to keep them out??? run a solar charged hotwire not far from the ground around it (w/o it touching your panels). They won't want to go through it, they may try to go under it, but will get a rude awakening. Hogs and electricity don't mix.

Looks good, you can easily make that into a hog trap during off season and make them pay the price for stealing your corn.

Looks good. I have seen hogs jump over those and other stuff but they don't all know that they can jump. They always seemed to figure it out when I got them in my trailer though. I had a 2 horse trailer that I converted to use to collect hogs from my traps. In the front there is an area to put hay or feed for horses to eat that is about 4'-5' off of the floor. Those suckers would jump right up there and look you in the eye out of the front.
