We used to hunt an area down there that was over 100 miles from the nearest place that banded them on a regular basis. We prolly killed 150-200 mottles over the course of 5 years and got one band.

Im not too far from you. We sell a lot of duck hunts out at the ranch I work on and have killed around 800 birds since the split with no bands...just got me wondering which ones are most likely to be wearing one. Thanks guys.

I was hunting a small lake next to a peanut field near Davidson, Oklahoma.Single mallard comes in and I take it. Banded Alzada Montana. Almost one year later to the day I was invited by a Ducks Unlimited Chairman to hunt his Duck Club lake near Thackerville, Oklahoma. He said since I was his guest I got first shot. A single greenhead comes in and I take it. Banded. I get to work, call in the number and then enter the number in my hunting notes. I could not believe what I was seeing. I shot the very next number. Consecutive band numbers in Consecutive years at lakes 100 miles apart. I dont even want to try and figure the odds on that.

I had a bad Email account. That locked me out of all the forums. I have a new email now and signed up with my real name.
