Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, b/c they know not victory nor defeat"- #26 TR

all I here is blah blah balh, no one can answer the question, the facts are the vanguard is 10 times the rem is. Its what a remington wants to be when it grows up. Same ol thing rems are the ones to build, blah blah blah, rems hold more championships blah blah blah, That would be like buying a mopar because of the results of a nascar championship

But second only to Savage in the ugly category, the synthetic stocks are pretty trashy looking. Of course, that's nothing that a can of Krylon can't patch up.

I have shot a ton and recommend them to a lot of people fact is they are not being sold to be a pretty rifle at $399.. second fact the are not the best shooting 5 shot rifle out there...not that you need to shot 5 shots groups...but vangaurd tossed out the competition peice..and you won't see them in competition bc the barrels are thin...Again that doesnt matter for a hunting rifle. the vanguard is a great gun for the price....but it not close to the 700 As time goes by the vanguard will have some great aftermarket stuff..that will help its popularity a bunch..and fix some of the big sticking points about them...that's my 2 cents I C lots of Vangaurd haters. Me thinks they never shot one so they just be hate'n!
