I'm constantly tinkering with my blind. I'd love to hear if any of you guys add little odds and ends to your blinds that either make things easier to hunt or just more comfortable.

Talking about gun rests, shelves, lights, etc.

What are the best accessories you've added to your blind?

A 10 or 12 inch shelf above the window (far end) to store hunting magazines or readers digest or coloring books for young kids. Also coffee thermos, sodas, snacks, extra ammo, H2O, cell phone, binocs, string to tag deer, varmint calls, etc. Carpet on the floor and corner where the gun leans at wall. Usually office chair with arms and leans back. On 4x6 or 4x8 blind, an extra card table chair that can be folded up if not used. If blind is near feeder, have jean or camo curtin on opposite side of blind so wildlife can't skylite as easily. I keep baling wire in a tree branch near my blinds in case I shoot something and can gut easier hanging it in a tree, so can keep hunting or be a while before get picked up.
If I were shooting long distance, I would put 1x6 level with window for sandbag to steady shot.

I added a triangle shaped shelf in each corner just big enough for bottled water or binocs. I think it adds to the stability as well. Just screw it to the underside of the window ledges.

Best accessory is a funnel and tube for a urinal. The tube runs through the floor and down the leg into a small pit with charcoal in it to eliminate any odor from what goes down the tube. Works for men and women.

I have one of the octagon shaped 4x6 fiberlgass blinds. Last year I brought it home to repair some of the fiberglass that had broke thanks to a tornado throwing it across the pasture.
While home I built two cabinets on each side at the top. Added shelves at the lower window sill all the way around. Carpeted shelves. Put triple layer of carpet pad on the floor for early morning naps. Put LED lights under the shelves. Added one of the wireless weather centers. Put a Porta-P toilet on the wall with a drain tube that goes down the 10' legs to a 5 gallon bucket buried with holes in it to drain nto the lava rock around it. Put blackout curtains on all the windows. I then repainted the entire thing, green on the outside and flat black on the inside. Got me a nice leather office chair thrown in there, just like home.

great idea, just what I was looking for. been trying to figure out a way to stabilize my daughter's shots.

We have a shelf running across the top of the window for items used, but not often. Then a shelf below the window for coffee, hot cocoa, binos reading glasses etc..

On the sides we have shelves for TP, lighter, spare lights etc...

A shelf on the back wall on each side for pee bottles, and propane bottles.

Hanging on the door is our "portalet" for the kids, or the jalepeno revenge

Our windows all have the expansion rods with cutains cut down from Lowes. Fully carpeted, and comfy chairs. I gotta have it comfy with the kids hunting

I like the idea of the funnel and charcoal. I have bought automobile beverage holders, cut the arm off and screwed them to the wall under the main window. That way you won't spill anything. A little ledge on the front of each shelf to keep things from rolling off and going thump.

I just normally use the bottles. We picked up the toilet from academy for $5 and it works great and hangs flat on the back wall until needed

Works good. Like I said I have mine draining into a buried 5 gallon bucket so dont have mess with a lower bottle. It is 10000X better then pissing in jugs.

Ok I can't wait to read all these but here's a few I've either done or seen.
Plexiglass corners are the best thing I've added.
I keep all my snacks, t paper, pen, ect. in a large "fruit cake" tin.
I have several cup hooks in different places to hang grunt call, varmit call ect.
Coat hook on door.
A heater is a MUST have!!!
I have a small note book to log what I've seen and time I saw it (gives me something to break up bordum and look back on next year)
I keep a copy of the Texas Hunting Annual so I always know the rules.
For tagging deer I use zip ties but one of our hunters uses large safety pins, he has them on his cap, coat, back pack and in the blind.

In our 2 wooden blinds we covered all the windows with a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet, black rubber bottom facing out, clothes pins hanging on a string above each window so we can raise the ones covering the windows we want to hunt out of. This way we can control the light in the blind depending on the time of day and keep from silhouetting ourselves in the blind.
We have also added corner shelves and shelves between the front windows and coffee hools to hang stuff from.

Just a few things we've added to our blinds

-Plexiglass windows
-Shelfs (top, below window)
-Carpet the whole blind (minus floor)
-Rubber matts for floor
-Heater
-Bar Shelf (Held handle of crown and 2 liter coke perfectly)

All good stuff but I like the porta p

do you have a hard to see out area. You put yourself in a corner and have to lean forward to see. I got some cheap car side mirrors and put them in each corner. That way I can sit back and see all around me with out moving. DON't get the ones that say " Objects may be closer the appeared" Just get the regular mirros. it works great.

the heater I use is a stove so I can make me some instant coffe or hot coco in the morning. I use tin cups and place right on top to heat water.

Ranges....people besides me use my stands and it's often difficult to judge distance in an unfamiliar area, and not everyone has range finders. I have a few easily-seen land-marks and their ranges in yards posted under each window as a reference for guests. Such as, "110 yards to feeder," or "165 yards to second power pole," or "216 yds to fence-line," etc.

great idea - we share blinds on our place as well. I'll try to do this one for next season.
