I've seen several red foxes over the years and I always said if I ever shot one I would get it mounted. Well today was that day. So my question is should I drop the extra money for a full body mount or just have him skinned and make a wall mount? not what I was after but it definately made up for a slow duck hunt

They are so purty, it will be worth the extra money. Get him mounted for sure.

It would be a full body mount if it were mine. Nice kill.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

TxKiller thanks for the advice. The taxi said he had some pictures I could look at cause I had no idea what pose would look the best.
All I have to do now is convince the wife thats its worth it!
I shot it in the Nacogdoches area in East Texas

Definitely a trophy for a Texas hunter. I'd get a full body mount, standing up, with 3 feet on the ground and 1 in up like he's taking a step. Head turned to one side

It's the first one I've seen but I just moved down here last year. I was so shocked when I saw him that I almost forgot I had a gun and could shoot him.

I used to catch them in winter up north when the fur was full and pretty. Used to get a pretty penny for them too.

My wife never ceases to amaze me. I show her the picture and the first words out of her mouth are "you're gonna get it mounted right". I Love her!

I'm sure all the new born deer come spring time will thank you. Fox eat them like candy.
