Yes , they got a bad rap for the over hype press. I believe they were the best technology at the time and it scared everyone.

didn't they used to make black talons rounds?? are they still making those? Same design differant name under the Winchester LE Ranger line. The better version is Winchester PDX-1 Line, which after years of complaints from LE Agencys about the bullet fragmenting and tearing apart if it struck any kind of hard barrier. The FBI helped design the new Bonded Bullet which holds together even through hard barriers to engage targets in vehicles or behind light cover. The same round was released to Civilians in the PDX-1 line. http://www.winchester.com/Products/handgun-ammunition/supreme-elite/bonded-pdx1/Pages/default.aspxdidn't they used to call that cop killer round? i remember 10, 20 years ago, used to hear it on tv a lot... Yes it was media overhype, the round is the complete opisite of whats needed to go through a vest. wasn't it coated in some kind of black or dark graish type of paint or something? Yes it was a Lulibox Coating, suposedly helped lubricate the rounds and cause less barrel wear. The Media said the coating is what allowed it to shoot clean through Kevlar.
