Should be a far easier thread to look at than the "other" thread

rifle
Remington 700 VTR w/ Leupold Mark 4 10x40 LR/T

They say Savages are ugly. Well most think this guy is too!!

edit, I make the rifle look much better.

Yep, that remmy is far uglier than ANY savage I've ever seen!!!! I bet ol' BMD wouldn't admit to that one even being a remington cause he can't shoot nothing but the pretty ones and he has to shoot only remingtons......so that one would put him in a pickle! lol

my remington.

i think this gun's stock is ugly as hell, as soon as i get the time to do it, its getting a wood stock. for the time being it works good as my truck gun

But, in all seriousness, I have a friend who has a 700 vtr like the one above and I wouldn't mind having one myself...his was a joy to shoot and, as I have said numerous times, I don't really care as much about the looks as much as the functionality of the rifle! That's the same reason my handgun of choice is a glock - not much to look at - some even say it's ugly, but it never fails to feed and it is extremely accurate.

I read up on them for a couple of days and picked it up this year for hunting. I already had the scope, and heard that these were shooting well out of the box. The only "bad" review I read on it, looked as if the guy had his mind made up. He shot it in crappy conditions and it still faired well, but he griped anyway. I also have glocks, and I love them.

How many rounds can you get in the same hole with that .220 swift?

Havent spent anytime with it yet messing with oal, basically shot 1 3 hole group one hole basically and started hunting with it, going to work on loads bump powder 1/2 grain and change to 50gr tsx. The best group with .300 win is .137 and I expect the 220 to be better.

Being a bow hunter, I can't believe I'm posting on a "Rifle" thread but the one rifle I own is a Remington 710 in .270 (package deal) that I bought about 6 years ago. Been lucky enought to have never missed with it and I can usually kill a golf ball at 200 yards. I think I paid $270 dollars for it new. If I ever did buy a "Good" rifle, based on my experiece with this cheapy, it would definitely be a Remington. Looking at BMD's guns almost makes me want to start rifle hunting all the time.....almost. laugh
