If your hunting the Rockport area be prepared to get checked at least once by the state GW's in their airboat. They really work that area and for good reason!! Brandy is always nice about it though.

i actually watched two guys in the parking lot right next to me the other morning get a ticket for not having their birds separate. They had 9 birds total. I heard the GW ask them who's birds were who's and said that by law they were supposed to keep each others birds separated at all times. He gave them both a ticket and took their birds. I think I know what lake and location... was there a woman involved?? -Matt

I would NOT have more than 2 days of limits in possession for all hunters. At any time. There was a hunter going home from that area and stopped to get gas and snacks. GW was there and asked to look at his cooler. He had more than 2 days of ducks. The fine was pretty harsh.

If you or you know anyone that gets one of those frozen food gifts in the mail this christmas shipped in a styrophoam lined insulated shipping box, save the box for the next time you do a multi day hunting trip. When I do one of those two week hunting road trips, I take one in my truck with a premade priority mail label and enough stamps to get it home. That way I can freeze the birds and drop it off at any post office if I get into more than I can eat on the road. I just let my wife know it is coming. But usually I just take what I need with me to prepare the birds on the trip, or if it is more than I can eat, send them home with other hunters I hunt with along the way. Traveling from public hunting area to public hunting area hunting over several days, I have been checked for possession limits more than once.
