Hey guys I dont get a chance to make many posts on here, but I had some spare time and thought I would share some pictures from the last couple of weeks huntn around the house. Hope you guys enjoy them half as much as we did calling em up! Anyone want to guess the weight of this big ole cat? 4 dogs last Tuesday. I wish we would have taken pictures of all of them, but these were the only ones we remembered to bring the camera, lol. The animals have really been moving in the past few weeks and myself and Friends have had a blast. Its not very often that you can have the animals cooperate and come rite to the truck like the majority of these did. It really makes for some unbelievable footage when they do. All of these animals were taken in little ole Grayson county over the past few weeks on places ranging from 10 acres to 200 acres at best. Just goes to show you dont have to have 700,000 acres and numerous tanks of deisel to get what you need and have a great time doin it! Hopefully you guys will be able to enjoy the footage sometime in the near future. I will try to post a few video "stills" before the kills after a while. Take care and good huntn! Chris U.P.

Did you use the Catnip for any of those bobcats?
Congrats!

Thanks for the comments guys, Bob all of these were called using the Burnham Brothers Compucaller III, miniblaster, or the cat nip. So much of the country we hunt in this area gets hammered pretty hard from other hunters making it more difficult to get responses. Being able to utilize hand calls for these areas has proven to be a great tool after many have "only" used digital callers in the same areas. It makes things much easier when they will come to the caller, however after they have heard the same sound several times they seem to wise up a little. Unfortunately, their are a few places that are fair game to everyone in the entire county to hunt and as a result you have to deal with very educated coyotes. This past year for use has been great for being able to gain a large amount new of uncalled land access through friends and on our own with hardly any competition and its hard to beat. I am trying to figure out how to capture digital stills from some of the footage straight from my camera and havnt quite figured it out yet. I will keep trying and try to get you guys some real cool pics to look at.

Thanks for the feedback. I just picked up a Catnip this year and have not had much time to use it yet. I also use the CCIII and the Mini-Blaster is one of my "go calls" I am never without.
Good Hunting,

djones, nah just doin what I love to do! A blind hog gets an accorn every now and then. To be honest with you, my calling has been commented to sound like someone standing on a ducks throught in the past, lol but I have found that what may sound horrible to your ears may sound like dinner to a hungry coyote. It may sound like crap but it sure as heck fooled theese guys! Even the most knowledgable panel of judges cant determine if your call will entise a coyote as good as only "one" coyote can. They are the only ones that really count and will help you learn how to be a better hunter at the end of the day! The one thing that I have learned about calling predators is that as soon as I think I know everything and have it all figured out, thats when I realize that I really dont know anything at all. Thats what makes this one of the best sports on the planet! Keep huntn

Heading down to Hidalgo County 2nd week of January. I wanna kill a white tail, yote and bobcat..Might get a chicken on the way down to cage up and set out in a field!!

Congrats on all the critters. You are doing a great job in an area that has a lot of hunting pressure. Looks like you might be cheating as you are using a Mini Blaster and Compucaller III. Adios, Gary

Also forgot to mention, all of these were actualy shot by either Jared Clark, Cory Larson, Brandon Helms, or Scott Sanders and "not" myself. I might have been preoccupied a little at the time but didnt have to worry cause these guys can really shoot. Have to give credit were it is due. I also wanted to let everyone know how thankful I am to be able to hunt with such a great bunch of guys and really appreciate it and dont take it for granted! Being able to enjoy doing what you love to do with your friends is what it is all about. Here are a few more pics Brandon 2 cats on back to back stands! Cory with a nice pile of North Texas critters.
