Just curious to see what everyone dream rig setup would be. Everytime I see the Sako85 in either wood or synthetic I wanna plop down the credit card, but then I come to my senses. I'd top it with a Swarovski Z6 and then go recover from the kidney I sold to buy it. One of these days though! What about you??

A classic double rifle maybe a Rigby or H&H brand but something thats been around a while and shows character.

Very nice!! My SCAR H, is supposed to be in sometime in January. So when you see my Bushmaster 308 ORC hit the classified section. You know my SCAR is here. LOL

I've wanted a Springfield Socom with a good 1-4x scope ever since they came out. May not be the lightest or the most technologically advanced but they just do it for me...

Move over, make room for me to dream and drool too. A blind man could shoot and hit with it, ....well, almost...

I'm pretty fond of my HK91. 1978 model with integrated bi-pod, all factory original paperwork including factory target, five 30 round mags, original softside carry case and bunch of other carp.
Traded a 2 year old Honda XR100 dirt bike for it. Best deal I ever made.

Forget all this tacticool mumbo jumbo. Give me a nicely sporterized custom mauser action style bolt rifle. Preferably from the likes of Duane Wiebe, D' Arcy Echols, Jerry Fisher, etc...I also like single shot Hagn rifles.
Good old wood and metal.

Good old wood and metal. In my opinion the tactical is far more practical. I hog hunt weekly and semi auto and suppressors allow me multiple shots on a sounder, and the same goes for yotes. My fancy Weatherby Mark5 walnut laminate, maybe gets shot once a year. My tactical AR's get pounded weekly. Even deer hunt with my 308 AR. I do like Mausers though, my 98k is still one of my favorites. And my pre 64 which is a mauser action as well.

Have no desire to own tactical weapons. Just dont like anything about them. I wont go into detail.
Afterall, this is a thread based on your opinion of a dream rifle...You know mine. It really doesnt matter if I think tactical weapons are tasteless.

Everyone has their preferences. Personally I don't care what "format" the rifle is in, as long as it's accurate and is enough tool to get the job done. My preference is bolt actions, but if there's an autoloader, single shot, pump action, etc. out there that does a better job, I'll look at it.

BTW TDK, I agree with you 1000% on the Mauser actions. To me there's nothing more "classic" than a well built rifle based on a '96 or '98 action.

I already have my dream rifle, it is a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Classic control feed 270 from the Winchester Custom Shop. It has beautiful wood and shoots great! I have only actually hunted with it a few times as I don't want to get the wood dinged up, it is just too pretty.
My "go to" rifle is my Model 70 Featherweight All Terrain 270 stainless with composite stock. I have taken a lot of game with this rifle.
