After reading the thread about the unnecessary camo, blinds and feeders (that's some funny stuff there!), I thought I'd see what type of setup everyone is hunting out of. Our blind is a walk-in sleeper off of a Mack truck complete with bunk, lights, and propane heater and it's set on a fence line about 100 yds from the feeder. Now, before everyone gets their panties in a wad about the fence line thing, ya'll should know that the previous owner of the neighboring property gave us permission to put them there several years ago as we have no tree cover to hunt and he didn't care. The new owner is, or will be leasing the place out, so we'll probably have to move everything even though we were there long before he bought the place and have been feeding these deer for almost ten years. Anyway, it's really nice to go out there with my grandson and spend the night then hunt the next day without having to make noise getting to and from the blind, and yes, I have shot a deer in the middle of the cotton field while wearing nothing more than my jeans and they weren't buttoned. So how lazy are the rest of ya'll?
Old age ain't for sissies!

One mile walk bed to blind, year round. Been getting older/lazy so I take the four wheeler lately.

My favorite blind is 6x8, with a 6 by 8 porch/patio on it, about 8 feet to the floor.
The vast majority of ours are 4x4x8 boxes, with a couple of larger ones for kids or couples to hunt from. We don't have heaters per blind, but we do have several Sportcat heaters if needed, but seldom used. in fact we haven't used it in a couple of years.
At camp, we have three campers around a common deck, electricity, gas and electric heat, and both Dish and DirecTV...
We generally ride four wheelers the 3-5 miles to our stands, but often take a truck or a Bronco when its real cold.

When I had a compression of the spinal cord, I started to hunt out of the bedroom window, and have for 10 years. I am never at our place by myself, who ever gets the "honor" of being my driver also gets the field dressing, loading, checking feeders and what ever else I think needs to be done. In return they get to hunt out of one of the other blinds.

Our new lease has no water or electricity, the old blinds really aren't sturdy enough to hunt out of. We park & walk to where ever we want to find a tree to hunt by. Its AWESOME, love hunting like that. There are a few old machines (combines, tractors, a Pontiac) that we can hunt by thus naming it Pontiac stand, combine stand, etc.

Good idea for a topic!
My grandfather-in-law lets me hunt his place, but there is no water/electricity. We put up a tent and wear our insulated coveralls to bed in the sleeping bags. One year we actually forgot the tent and there was frost on my sleeping bag (not an exaggeration) when we woke up at 5:30am to go to the blind.
We have about a 3/4 mile walk to one blind and about a 1/4 mile walk to the other. I sometimes leave a 4-wheeler at the blind the day before and walk back, so that way I'll have one waiting for me at the blind when I head back for lunch.

The place I frequent is a private ranch . . . So, I'm a little spoiled. There is a 5 bedroom ranch house, a cantina, and a 3 room "motel." We take either the ranch truck or a 4 wheeler to the stands.

We have an 8x8 cabin, no insulation, just plywood. No electricity, just lanterns. Water in bottles. Only heater is a sportcat. Quarter mile walk to tripods. One new box blind a hundred yards from camp. Roads are rough with oaks 2 ft tall still in some of them. If you get off the road without 4x4 you will get stuck in the sand! We don't have 4x4 either. Cook over little kettle grill. We love it. Just got kinda cold last weekend and it didn't even freeze.

I have a 16' tripod set up.
A buddy gave me his shipping box from his Africa mounts, I cut a door on it for blind number 1.
There was a elevated steel frame on the lease when we got it, last weekend I slapped some 2x4s on it and put a piece of plywood on top for blind 2.
Camp consists of a hanging rope wrapped around a tree for cleaning.
But its only an hour from the house...

the food plot was planted last week and should be ready for me to hunt from the porch swing at Christmas. My father-in-law got an even cooler set-up courtesy of a builder with a good sense of humor. in the pic below, look at the window on the top right of the back of the house, That's a window in in the attic. The bottom of the window is just above floor level, and it is mounted upside down, so it lowers to open. When open, it is at perfect gun rest height.

Dont like to rough it much anymore. Our cabin has all the comforts of home, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, central air and heat, direct tv, etc. All this in a home that was originally built in the 1890s. Really like it alot. Thing we dont have that I wish we did is a nice deck. Do have a big smoker and firepit out back. Now if I was going to make a trip to the mountains or Canada, I wouldnt mind roughing it a bit. Just dont want to do it week in and week out.

We have a camper setup with no water or electric (generator when needed). Walk about a mile to metal 4x6 stand. Hopefully get electric in after the season.

our property has a 30' travel trailer and a small 12x8 cabin. we have electricity but no running water. we have a 12' tall blind that is 10x10 and could easily hunt 3 people. the other two blinds are one man ground blinds and are a couple hundred yard walk from camp. and yes we see plenty of deer at these blinds even with them being close to camp.

My wife loves to bow and rifle hunt so she has a 28 ft fifth wheel with full electric, water, heat and A/C, fire pit, 82 toyota with a high rack and road feeder, an 80 Chevy 1 ton 4X4 to haul water to her 800 gallon tank by her feeder that has a 4X8 tower blind that has a heater in it with a grill bottle mounted to it. I get to drive her to her blind load and unload all of her stuff, track, drag and gut all her kills. She has it rough. Oh Yeah, I get to hunt every weekend with no gripng what so ever.

The gentleman that owns this place is one of if not the most passionate person on the planet when it comes to hunting and fishing. He is very successful in business, and is very generous to let his family and friends hunt on this place. I have yet to find a way to express to him my appreciation, all i know is a firm hand shake and a sincere thank you.

No water or power on our 600 acres so it's a good thing it's only 20 minutes from the house. We either hunt out of a pop up or this converted shipping crate:

Our place is a 100 year old former bunk house for the ranch vaqueros. We've added a couple of window unit a/c's and have 3 Dearborn gas heaters. Has a shower to wash off of the red dirt at the end of the day.
It's just comfortable enough that the men don't mind staying for a week at a time and just rustic enough that the women don't want to stay at all. It's the perfect compromise.
