Remington 870......but not one of the new ones. Buy one at least 10 years old.

I have a plain jane nova (26", straight black, synthetic, shoots 3 1/2") and love it. I did not see any reasonable advantage over the regular nova to justify the increased cost.

Vintage Wingmasters are finest pump shotguns on the planet. Novas are good guns so is the Mossberg 500.

I have an an 870 i got about 18 years ago and a Mossberg 835 i bought the wife. the 870 is a great gun but i prefer the action and thumb safety on the 835.

I have three 870's, the newest one is about 20 years old. The oldest one I bought on my 14th birthday (I'm 58 now). They were my only shotguns for many years and I never had a single malfunction in the field. They don't get that much use anymore, I hunt with a benelli semi-auto or an over under. Not a real improvement in performance, just preference. Time marches on.

There's so much I don't know that I don't even know what I don't know.

If you want a good used Nova, I will sell you mine for $350. It's been a great gun for me; just need to free up some cash. PM me if interested.

My personal favorite is the Model 37 Ithaca, they ain't pretty and they ain't expensive but they are by far the smoothest and most reliable. Less moving parts than any others on the market and a wide variety of cheap barrels. Plus they're ambidextrous.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I like the Browning BPS because I shoot lefthanded and they have bottom ejection and tang safety.

Thanks for everyone's opinion... i'm still debating on either the supernova or the browning bps.

Not going to go wrong with either.

My $.02, go with the one that feels and fits you best

If you absolutely have to decide between the browning and the supernova....Defanetly the BPS. Also the comfortech stock on the benellis don't help any. Not worth the extra money. Good luck.........870s are the best though

1.Tied for first - Ithica 37 featherlight and the Remington 870 Wingmaster. Yes there is differance in it and the express.
2.Browning BPS
3.Benelli Nova
4.Mossberg 500
5.Remington Express 870

In that order

New 870s are crap. Old ones are golden. Can't speak to anything else.

I have a 30 year old 870 wingmaster that I wouldn`t sell for anything . It is a beautiful gun and it shoots great.
