I found this in the Dallas Morning News this morning...Draw hunt on public land around Lake Grapevine, first bow buck and what a giant...There is a picture in the actual paper, if anyone finds one for all to view post it up!

I spoke with a taxidermist that said he has two bucks in his shop from Lake Grapevine that are over 140.

I think it’s awesome to hear about some of the giants bucks around the Collin, Denton and Grayson county areas...I know when I drive around here now I’m really wondering what’s in some of the huge unincorporated bottom land in these areas.

I have tried to find a picture of this buck online but cant...Pickup a Sunday paper today, its in the Sports section.

I saw the pic and couldn't believe it. Who knew Lake Grapevine of all places would hold up a nice buck like that? Awesome story.

It was a different deer, this deer grossed 195 and netted 189...Please share with the rest of us how the article could have been better.

Awesome buck!

If memory serves me right, before they built DFW Airport there was a private ranch in that area that had some major league bucks. Not sure who the owner was, but he had a reputation for having those bucks!

Just got a whole lot harder to draw a tag out there next year, last year that place was open permit. The genetics are there just like they are in grayson county. I'm sure they guy who took this deer is a nice guy but he really should have kept this to himself, I just don't think he realizes how much harder its going to make it to draw a tag out there. There have been big deer like this taken there before but it was always kept on the low down.

I have a buddy who works some pump stations in and around that area and he has shown me some great pics of some deer he has seen. Some of the pics have come from right around DFW airport "really nice". CONGRATS to the hunter who shot that great buck!!!!!!

Understood. Hopefully that will not be the case. Even if I don't get drawn next year, at least I know the deer population will be there for the next guy.

Also the secret was out the minute I dropped the deer off at the meat market.

Yes sir, I don't hunt out there, actually never set foot on the place, closest I've come to it has been driving by on the way to texas motor speedway, just kinda thinking about the local guys who have hunted out there forever. Good luck in the future out there.
